Note:

Uninterrupted natural airflow is considered key to health and mood by the Inisfreeans –for the same reasons stagnant air or still water can lead to growths unfavorable to most human and humanoid beings.  There are no air conditioners in Inisfree, at least not like the ones used by humans in the Outlands; air conditioning or climate control within homes and other buildings is done by a system of ground/floor pipes, vents, heat-retaining walls, and Sun-facing windows.  Breezeways are arguably the main component in that system, as they are what accept, channel, and direct the most air, thus making the largest temperature changes, as desired.

Dimensions & Layout:

Apartments usually have a fairly narrow central hallway, while larger residences have entire courtyards with adjoining breezeways large enough to drive a truck or bus through.  Every home in Inisfree has a breezeway that is at least one hallway taking up ~10% of the living space.  Most breezeways are purely horizontal, while some of the more luxurious ones include terraces.

Special Features:

Breezeways in Inisfree harness wind power and store some of it as energy available for use later.  Silent miniature wind turbines, and poles designed to tilt back and forth in breezes and steady wind, are built into each breezeway where they remain unseen.  Each breezeway can usually generate most, if not all, of the electricity one to four people need when they are home.
