Introduction:

Solarium is the term coined by the Inisfreeans for a tanning facility, though Inisfreeans do not use tanning beds like the Outlanders do.  Using crystal lenses and sunroofs, never UV-lights or lamps, Inisfreeans take natural light and focus it to varying intensities, also filtering it, based on the wishes of each tanner.  Whoever comes to these facilities to tan may pick the tanning bed type based on their wishes, each tanning bed and tanning area (such as patios and observation decks) being pre-set to exact conditions.

Inisfreean Tans:

All Inisfreeans tan naked, whether it’s in one of these tanning-based constructs, atop their roofs, or just lying down in the middle of any field, public place, or beach spot.  This is just for sexy show, as Inisfreeans never need to tan in order to be tanned; they can change their tans and complexions at will.  Thus, there are no tan lines in Inisfree.

Everyone here sunbathes nude.  No one is into tan-lines.

Locations:

There are 9 solariums in Inisfree.  This is where you can find them:

  1. Auz’dome (rooftop)
  2. Cropland‘s mountain range
  3. Devils Tower II (summit)
  4. Dragon’s-back mountain-range
  5. Harbin II
  6. Luxor II hotel (rooftop)
  7. Mall (rooftop)
  8. Snow Dunes spot near the Wedding Wing-suiting jump-off point
  9. Valhalla II (rooftop)

Dimensions & Layout:

Each solarium is about the size of a large house, measuring close to 60 feet across any of its foundation’s four sides, and stands two stories tall, offering a wide variety of tanning environments ranging from cool with dappled sunlight… to hot with no shade at all.  For ‘sun-worshipers’ (lovers of beaches, tans, and direct sunlight) and ‘sun-samplers’ alike, Inisfree’s solariums are the place to be.

Additional Notes:

The map of Inisfree shows 10 solariums, but there are now also solariums atop every skyscraper of Sotu, as well as many other places.  Every region of Inisfree has at least one.

Many Reptilians approved to visit Inisfree like to come here for the added/guaranteed/steady warmth.  Anita and Tempest are two of them.  Starting in 2029 A.D., Auz’s 12 daughters with/from Tempest will be among the next.

by specialist Daniel Roytas:
“Many people have been asking about my position on vitamin D. Whether or not people choose to take a supplement is up to them, but it’s important to remember a few key things.

  1. There’s no replacement for sun exposure. Vitamin D pills cannot correct a sunlight deficiency.
  2. The beneficial effects of sun exposure are not due to vitamin D, but rather the exposure to electromagnetic radiation (i.e. sunlight). It’s the light having the effect, not the ‘vitamin D’.
  3. Vitamin D blood concentrations are a proxy marker for sun exposure. Vitamin D is the evidence of exposure to the sun, nothing more.
  4. Sun exposure has dozens of beneficial effects above & beyond that of vitamin D.
  5. Vitamin D is a hormone, therefore supplementing with it is hormone replacement therapy, not vitamin therapy.
  6. In 2022, France classified vitamin D as a substance of very high concern as an endocrine disruptor. Do we really know what this synthetic substance is doing?

Seek the sun, not supplements.”

Special Features:

The tanning-chairs/beds here can tilt toward the Sun (and sometimes must, since we are near the South Pole / Polar Hole; the Sun, when it is above the horizon, is always pretty low in the/our sky).

All users are automatically scanned/sensed by the ICVs on staff here, who then know exactly what each of their skins is capable of handling without sun-burning.

Relevant Holidays:

Novels Excerpt:

Past the end of the Ridge-line Building Chain was a facility called a solarium. It was what it sounded like; people went there to better enjoy the rays of the Sun. Some just basked in the regulated warmth and light of the place, while others were there to stay until they’d tanned.

Sunburns, an Inisfreean (ICV) working there informed them, didn’t happen in Inisfree; the people had grown far too strong to be weakened by any radiation, and even if those still unlocking that ability visited, the domes of both the solariums and the city itself kept out all harmful rays –solar and otherwise. She also mentioned how Inisfreeans didn’t tan; they simply chose which color their skin held, from time to time, selecting from the full range from Caucasian-white to lightly-tanned, moderately-tanned, naturally-bronzed, and browns to a dark-brown bordering on more of a chocolate color than black. Demonstrating, she let Lucifera see how her skin slowly and steadily changed through each of those complexions; she worked her skin like that of a chameleon!
