Note from the Editor:

So what was that MMORPG I’d been trying out, and then using to sort of escape from the growing tension of the latest reality I’d found myself temporarily trapped in?  World of Warcraft.  They call it WoW, and it is a fitting name; that game was so groundbreaking, life-like, immersive, and open-ended; there was zero linear gameplay, as you could customize your characters, go anywhere in any order, ignore quests and just explore, or do what they call ‘grinding’, then sell whatever you find and make, or even drop it off at auction houses to do the work for you.

I’d been a little hesitant to try the first Warcraft game when my best friend from middle school had shown it to me.  That was back in the 90s, but, boy, had he been right; it was so much fun to play, and I’m glad its makers (who I’d later get to talk with directly, regarding the start of my own MMORPG!) kept working on the sequels that turned into the decades-long and lore-rich saga enjoyed by tens of millions today.  I always pause and think things through, especially with games, as they can be addicting, and don’t really do much other than pass the time, but with the Warcraft releases, it really had a therapeutic, medicinal, and inspiring effect, and I ended up with thousands of screenshots of areas full of architecture, furnishings, landscapes, outfits, and hairstyles that have since improved so many areas of Inisfree.

So now I was finally getting over my hesitation about playing its latest version; an MMORPG.  People had recommended it for a few years, and I’d dismissed it as ‘nerd stuff’ every time, but I was just about hooked, and loving every new area and scene.  I haven’t found I game I like as much since, and I’ve modeled a LOT of the Inisfree MMORPG off of this one game.

  • H.A.A.R.P.: High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program; originally intended to test remote ways of jamming communications for an entire region, this project discovered ways of manipulating the weather, its technology eventually being miniaturized from a vast field full of tall antennae towers… to what can fit inside a missile warhead or backpack (ex.: Inisfree uses its own H.A.A.R.P. facility to regulate its weather for optimum crop growth, local auroras, lightning energy harvesting, and soothing distant rolling thunder sound effects.)

Poking Fun at Fake News:

When a plane suddenly experiences ice buildup significant enough to cause it to crash, you know something interesting and unusual happened.  Was it a weather weapon that caused this, or one of the mutants a lot of people now have reason to believe exist?  What did it really fly into?

My money is on it being someone onboard, or a group of people onboard, whose energy was enough to cause a dramatic temperature drop.  Maybe they were part of a black-ops crew manning one of the infamous chem-trail aircraft spraying all those long straight lines of ‘clouds’.  What went wrong in this test of theirs?  How has it been studied, the aircraft still flying these missions… improved?
