Taken here more than once during my early childhood, I have since been told by a hottie that it is a great place worth seeing more of.

Phase 1:

Somewhere in the wilderness of this rarely heard-of state is the metal children’s playground castle where I went with the fam as a kid.  It is part of the reason why I am so comfortable in the woodlands, forests, and greenbelts.  It is also, of course, why I always feel the happy urge to climb and play throughout them.  The setting of the book Bridge to Terabithia was probably also very familiar and easy to picture because of my trips to this state.

Phase 2:

I avoided West Virginia after seeing the movie Wrong Turn; there is always a little truth to the stereotypes and where all those disgusting and frightening torture-porn movies come from.  That was my thinking, at least, until I met one of the most logical and impressive military doctors who is from here.  At the Focus Marines Foundation mansion ranch in Missouri, he stood tall and calm, politely and eloquently correcting a number of the amusing claims of a brainwashed speaker who hadn’t bothered to think the speech and techniques all the way through.  He and I ended up in the same group based on our personalities and philosophies, and exchanged business cards.

Phase 3:

When I return by invitation of this state’s most beautiful girls, we’ll check out the grand resorts, some of the most scenic areas in the country, and maybe even some of the historic Civil War sites.  Harpers Ferry and the New River Gorge Bridge come to mind.  Anything that’s tall enough, I’ll almost certainly climb with them, and then BASE-jump off the top, riding the breeze all the way down for Inisfreean-level fun back at the bottom –pun not intended.
