Family Across the Stars,

“The brave didn’t kill the dragons; they rode them.”

History and myths about dragons have been varied from culture to culture and continent to continent; in Europe, dragons are monsters to be feared and hunted. In Asia, they are wise and magical, to be respected and sought for guidance. The Vikings fashioned their boats based on dragons, while others just painted demonized pictures of them in Hell. Why these polar opposites, though?

We looked for dragons to join us here in Inisfree because, as it turns out, they are great guards, they are incredibly wise and perceptive, and they were wrongly demonized, just as I (more than) once was. I wanted to do something nice for them, and suggesting this teamwork opportunity felt like the right idea. I was very happy and relieved when they considered and then accepted it, showing me that they would at least interact peacefully when it came to matters of Inisfree.

Dragon Barbie, as I’ve come to call her, who will be introducing us to more of her kind who are compatible with us (who will be helping us build more of our city and realm), was one of the first I’d ever heard of. Able to take the form of a human, like how some humans can take the form of a wolf, I suppose that makes her a were-human. She has been very polite and informative, prompt and approachable, loving and divine. We are lucky to have her company whenever she makes time.

I welcomed her with our traditional Inisfreean ceremony of a luminous storybook tent-town at our city’s square. From there, I personally escorted her along our perfected tour route until she had come to understand us. I showed her some of what we can do, and she showed me her own powers. We even went for a ride up through the local clouds; she shapeshifted back to her natural form, and I saddled up, her strong dragon neck supporting me for the flight.

She has started helping us prepare a paddock in our city’s zoo (animal rehabilitation range) for several other representatives of her race. Once ready, they, too, will be invited in. Since everything we make is impervious to their fangs and fire, there is little to worry about, should any of them be temperamental. All signs point to them being even more approachable and agreeable than her, she being the only one who we needed to break the proverbial ice with. I look forward to those near-future advents. How stirring and reaffirming they shall be.

Welcoming compatible dragons into our community is a big part of what WGI was founded for; our corporation started as a weapons R+D company, then grew into a parent/umbrella corporation with its departments becoming companies of their own, the growth meant to extend the reach of our products and services to a client base of billions, with dragons both being the most knowledgeable about all peoples, as well as perhaps the greatest living weapons of all time. To understand people and the reality that shapes them the best, and to produce the most effective weapons (which often means clever, rather than lethal, ones), it was inevitable that we eventually team up not only with ourselves, but with the people called dragons, too.

Say hi to the uncommonly smooth, graceful, and confident blonde woman when you see her walking our city’s streets and fields. If she shapeshifts into her dragon form, bow to her as loving friends. If she defends you or offers you a flying ride, count your lucky stars. Dragon Barbie is our beloved first guest of their kind, and is here to stay.

To paradise and beyond,

A °
