PLAYER VS PLAYER
‘Player VS Player’ (PvP) areas or servers are where some conflict-based games can get really exciting and time-consuming; these are places where the programming of the game allows not only players to fight NPCs, but other players, as well.
Our PvP equivalent: we don’t have competitions where there is one loser and one winner, so our version of Player-versus-Player is:
- go on joint quests, which earn you fewer XP, which makes you level more slowly, but the socializing is thought to compensate for this
- have groups/clans of players join as a single team, while the other team is the NPCs (though you still BOTH team up; players with NPCs, or players with more players) to complete sporting events, etc.
- challenge each other in a professions/gemcrafting/textiles/leveling race, etc.; friendly competition and demonstrations of skill sets / proficiencies
There are also fighting zones in and outside Inisfree, such as dojos and the towns across the Outlands where raids occur. If you count non-player characters as computer-controlled players, then that is where PvP in this game occurs.
