Introduction:

Drive down Inisfree’s main highway on auto-pilot to enjoy the sight of this highway-adjacent water feature. Inspired by its namesake, this waterfall is massive and in perfect view for all passersby. It symbolizes the now-substantial outpouring of ideas and products from Inisfree via its factories.

Dimensions & Layout:

Spanning half a mile and falling 15 stories, this is actually one of the city’s shorter waterfalls, though also its widest. Its edges are adjacent the outer edges of the landscaped parking lots of two of the city’s most major factories. At its basin is a water collection construct which disperses all the water reaching it back into the underground silos which regulate the water table.

Special Features:

At night, this waterfall is lit up from behind; light fixtures hidden behind its wall of falling water illuminate it with an ethereal glow much like the slowly changing features of a lava lamp.

Novels Excerpt:

Between that clothing factory and its neighboring factory was Inisfree’s version of Niagara Falls. They called it their Highway Niagara because it was right alongside the Glowing Art Highway, unlike the original which was between an island and a residential area. Niagara Falls is a horseshoe-shaped waterfall, roughly 900 feet across, that drains Lake Erie into Lake Ontario. Inisfree’s Highway Niagara is 2,640 feet across (just under three times wider), completely straight, and drains the city’s main lake back into the system of linked underground silos which use their pumps to keep all that water moving right back up to the top of their central mountain.

Inisfreeans patrol the top, bottom, and sides of this water feature, as it is quite powerful, and a potential scare or risk to those unprepared. They make sure anyone who approaches understands its power, and prevent them from falling in. While everyone in Inisfree is immortal, most of them also invincible for various reasons, falling into a half-mile-wide waterfall would still be terrifying, draining (pun not intended), and most unwanted.

No one showered in this waterfall; it was the only one in the entire Inisfreean realm which was too powerful for that. A few brave residents and guests did put their faces near its mist, or their hands out to sample a drink. Usually, though, the Inisfreean girls were asked to get some of its water for them, that they might remain at a safer distance. Its steady roar was almost deafening, yet somehow very peaceful.
