This is the kind of “mini bungalow” or beachfront hut-sized home you might find across Hawaii.

Introduction:

These residences are low, small, cozy, and personal.  Each one has room for a group of 3 or 4 people (though they much more comfortably house just one or two).  They are typically reserved by surfers, and their outdoor showers make for the perfect addition (keeping the sand outdoors where it belongs).

Dimensions & Layout:

Each ti-house is ~15′ x ~15′, and 1 story tall.  They are among the simplest and smallest structures and dwellings in our realm.  Inside, they don’t even have separate rooms; there is usually just a kitchenette, a table with a couple chairs, a hammock, and maybe a beanbag to lounge on.

Windows are typically on 3 or all 4 sides, and rarely have window coverings.

Our neighborhood of these small dwellings runs along a narrow strip of our main beach, more or less parallel with part of our Beach Strip.  It includes 100 ti-houses.  In the future, it may include a few dozen more, dependent on demand and zoning.

Population Over Time:

Roughly 1 more person made this neighborhood his/her home (or at least their 2nd/vacation home) every ~70 years from 2013 to 23000 A.D..

  1. 2013:  the first guest or resident here
  2. 2083:  ~2 living in this neighborhood this year
  3. ~23000 A.D. and beyond:  ~3,000 at capacity

This does not mean that the other ~98 ti-houses were not in-use, though; they were, but only briefly by surfers and other beachgoers, most of our people tending to luxuriate in our more spacious and appointed/furnished residences nearby and elsewhere.

Additional Notes:

Ti houses are also some of the most colorful in all of Inisfree, their siding and borders painted in the bright, happy, traditional ‘beach colors’ often found on the livelier and more festive of lifeguard shacks.

History:

Heather “Lifeguard” Cameron and Pele Wahielo started ‘coming’ with Auz here as often as they get to surf and otherwise hangout.  They have committed to threesome-christening every single one of them –both inside and out.  Others such as Ceara Reid and Cessily Kincaid have started joining them.
