The X-Men call her “Rubbermaid” (just like the company). The Inisfreeans playfully just call her “Rub”.

History
Andrea Margulies was one of the youngest students at the Xavier Institute. Prior to the invention of the school’s training squad system, Rubbermaid was one of Emma Frost‘s numerous advisees.[1]
While Bishop and Sage were visiting the X-Mansion during a murder investigation, Rubbermaid and fellow students Tantra, Gloom, Silicon, and Zach decided to play pranks on the two X-Men. Rubbermaid attempted to wrap herself around Bishop, but Bishop managed to subdue the girl.[2]
Emma Frost revealed that Jeffrey Garrett, a mutant accused of murder, has won Andrea’s heart.[3] He was the reason why Bishop and Sage came to the X-Mansion. When they arrived again, Andrea wrapped herself around Jeffrey after he was shot by Sage so he would receive no further harm. When Jeffrey woke up, he told her to run, but she would not leave him. When Storm and Emma arrived, the children were all gone. The two rushed to the danger room where Bogan, the group that Jeffrey killed, were. Oliver, aide to Mr. Bogan, had Rubbermaid in his arms, fainted.[4]
Following the formation of training squads, Rubbermaid was assigned a new advisor, Northstar. Andrea and her fellow students, Anole, Loa, Indra, Kidogo, and Network, were placed in Alpha Squadron, wherein they trained together as a team to develop their powers.[5]
When a brainwashed Wolverine seemingly killed Northstar, former New Mutant Karma took over as the squad’s advisor. Andrea questioned Karma’s ability to advise the Alpha Squadron due to her busy schedule as the teacher of lower school and interim advisor to the Paragons. In order to help assuage their grief, Shan showed Andrea and the rest of her squad the statue of Northstar erected in his memory.[5]
After Decimation, Rubbermaid lost her powers, earning her a seat on the bus back home. As the bus was departing, however, Stryker fired a missile at it. The bus was destroyed and all of the depowered students inside it were killed, including Andrea.[6]
Strength Level
Weaknesses
Her powers give her the same setbacks as rubber, for example, if exposed to great heat she will ‘melt’ and if exposed to great cold she will begin to freeze. She could also be harmed by bladed weapons.
Paraphernalia
Equipment
Suit that stretches as she does.

Andrea likes to draw attention on her face, as she see’s that her better qualities are her eyes. She finds it useful when she gives the ‘pathetic puppy eyes’ to people, something she feels can melt the hearts of the weak-willed. Being that she can stretch, Andrea does have some weight to her, with an hourglass figure. Andrea has no body art and minimal piercings, mainly her ears.
–
Personality:
Andrea considers herself to be a bright and bubbly person who loves to use her ability, so much so that it has gotten her into trouble. She tends to act more like a child than a young adult.
Her mutation gives her the impression that she can’t be harmed, but she can be hurt emotionally and mentally. She often forgets that others can feel pain. She believes she can make people around her happy. Andrea is an attention seeker and often has a habit of getting in other peoples’ faces.
Behind the happiness, however, she can hold onto a great deal of anger. She holds grudges against people that want to make a joke of her, her ability, or her disposition towards others. She tends to bottle up her emotions until they reach a boiling point and then she lashes out at anyone nearby, regardless of whether they are friend or foe. She needs to learn how to manage her anger. It can, however, be useful in a fight, but it can also hinder her as she can become suggestible to people with mental powers.
When she gets upset, Andrea’s spirit diminishes and she can’t concentrate on much. She becomes reclusive, talking only to close friends. She will go from fun-loving and talkative to morbid and emotionless. Depending on how much it affects her, she could curl up and cry on the floor. Things that trigger this sort of reaction are memories of her past or seeing pain inflicted on her friends.
- Likes: Bubblegum, playing with rubber-bands, using her ability for fun, making friends, playing pranks.
- Dislikes: Running, detention, liars, being teased by her peers, being called a freak.
- Fears: Not being able to feel physical pain, being seeing as an outcast, being alone for a long time, her mom and dad, death of her friends.
- Dreams & Goals: Become a full-fledged X-Man and find love.

History:
Andrea’s past is filled with darkness and gloom. Her life was like something that could be found in a twisted fairy tale used to scare little kids and to get them to behave. And it begins with Andrea Margulies, a girl that, for the most part, went through life thinking that the world was full of wonder and imagination, and thought that anyone could be anything.
Her childhood was filled with friends and hobbies like amateur gymnastics. She watched cartoons, and enjoyed drawing and reading. The recent rise in known mutants was something that had started to create panic in the world. Andrea was amazed by these people, people with abilities that could all sorts of things, and it felt like her imagination was coming to life. Her parents, Christopher and Gillen Margulies, didn’t agree with how she viewed mutants, seeing them only as freaks.
The ‘cure’ for mutants was a topic of debate in her middle school and Andrea listened to other students talk about the mutant phenomenon. She learned about the genetics of mutants in biology. Entering her teenage years, she became more interested in boys than in cartoons. As she got into high school, things changed. She recognized that she was starting to like like boys and she enjoyed thinking about finding someone that would love her and take her away from her neglectful parents, despite her parents’ strict rules about how she wasn’t allowed to date.
Around her sixteenth birthday, she started to notice that her body was changing more than other girls around her. She was cleaning the house and sneezed, causing her arm to stretch farther in front of her than it was supposed to. At first, she thought she was sick and tried to hide her newfound mutation from her parents, hoping that it would just magically go away.
When it didn’t, Andrea realized that she was going to have to get used to the fact that she could stretch her limbs and her thoughts turned to the comic books she’d read as a child. Andrea then realized that she was gifted like the heroes that she’d read about. Her parents did not like it when they saw her using her ability. They both thought that it was a mistake and began looking into the cure. Because of this, Andrea decided to pack her bags and runway from home.
Andrea felt lonely as she tried to live life on the streets, having to live off handouts. She often used her abilities to steal things, which got her into trouble and got her attention from the police. Not sure what the world was going to think of her now that she was fending for herself and that she was a mutant, Andrea made her way to New York City with the belief that there was a safe haven for mutants there. She wanted a more permanent home and truly felt that Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters was the place to be.
Schooling: Andrea went to public school from Kindergarten on into high school. She was in her sophomore year of high school when she was forced to drop out after an incident with her mutation.
Andrea has a desire to continue her schooling and take electives in art and drama as well as gymnastic.
–
Powers:
Elasticity: Andrea possesses the ability to stretch. Due to her body’s ability to become flexible like rubber, this allows Andrea’s limbs to grow in both size and shape. She can make herself taller, wider, or both, making herself look like a human balloon. Andrea is able to get past obstacles that would normally be considered tricky for someone with a normal body. For example, she is capable of using her body to tie people up or become a crash mat for people to land on. Andrea can also inflate only a part of herself (like a limb) to form a fist that is double in the size of her original fist and can use that to hit someone.
Weaknesses:
She can stretch up to thirty feet in length before the cells in her body start to tell her that she has reached her limit and she would start to feel significant strain. Continuing past that distance could also do permanent damage to her skin and muscle tissue. Her maximum stretch length is fifty feet. After that, she can stretch no further at this point.
Damage also happen if Andrea body is exposed to extreme temperatures that would hinder the use of her ability. Cold would slow her down and heat would make her body floppy and near-liquid-like. Andrea can be harmed by high-powered weapons and any weapons that can pierce her skin, such as knives.
Andrea can only lift what she can lift in her normal form. She can be electrocuted as well in any form.
Non-Power Talents:
Andrea is somewhat of an amateur gymnast and used the school playgrounds to show off. Andrea likes to be sneaky and has used this when she would skip school or get home late without her parents knowing.
Equipment:
Andrea carries a dog-tag necklace that has the ace of clubs on it, something that she feels is a lucky charm.

2020 Update:
This was the year when the vision came to Auz of her making it to Inisfree in 2022.
She is the only person in Inisfree with the name Andrea (and her name is the female form of “Andrew”, its root in Greek meaning “brave”).
“Rub”, as the Inisfreeans nicknamed her and like to call her, is a lot like Reed “Mr. Fantastic” Richards; her whole body is much more stretchable than any human’s, even to the point that she must wear a special form of clothing made from a more elastic version of Spandex. Also like him, she can absorb/disregard a lot of damage (that would easily knock out or kill most humans). Her future application of this superhuman ability is yet to be revealed/determined (though she can, of course, conceal sizable objects in her main cavities/orifices, walking around as if they weren’t even in her, making her great at smuggling operations).

2022 Update:
This amazing girl made it to Inisfree for the first time this year’s Spring –and right after Auz’s birthday, giving him another full week of reasons to celebrate. He enjoyed how she quickly embraced him and his culture, apparently as flexible socially and mentally as her powers allowed her to be physically. On that note, she has also enjoyed showing him how posable she can and likes to be in the bedroom, putting her ability to the most timelessly-natural and classic feminine use.
He confided in her that her coming into his life helped soften the associations he has with one of her names. He had avoided any and all contact with some people due to this reason; some words were spells which had never vibed well to him from the start, and certainly vibed even less after he’d met the ‘dark’ beings who’d gone by those names. Ms. Margulies had fully righted one of those things, so she really had his attention and appreciation, he taking that as a very good sign, one of the best.
The attraction between these two is romantic and ‘magnetic’. With every hangout they share together, it grows, too. They haven’t talked about it yet, but both of them have been starting to picture how their wedding will be –and that isn’t just daydreaming or fantasy; those are visions they are getting of the actual event in their near future. Such is the way of things in Inisfree.
Who knows what the future will hold for this superpowered couple? How will Andrea M. use her ability to aid them and the others now part of their growing family of the best deities? That will be revealed in the years ahead.
