Introduction:

Like everything else we make and use here, our furniture is 3D-printed, and our bedding is assembled by robotic arms on an automated assembly line right alongside it.  The most expensive bed in the Outlands (mattresses can reach $10,000, and the whole bed assembly can be as much as $6,300,000; a Baldacchino Supreme) can be made here in a small fraction of the time, and for virtually zero cost.  Want the finest sheets; something even smoother than silk?  Go with synthetic vicuña, and we can print with that just as well.

All our furniture is specifically designed to not crack in dry air (we are in Antarctica, after all, though our sky-dome keep normal humidity over our land), and not to fade in direct sunlight (again, Antarctica; thinnest atmosphere overhead, though sunlight never comes in at that high angle).
