Introduction:
The Governor’s Mansion of Inisfree has three basement levels; the highest being Club Cush, the middle being what they call the ‘Bat-cave 2’ Command & Control Center, and the lowest being the pentagonal array of bulb- or womb-like rooms known as the Magics Chambers. Miles beneath even that, however, is a single room accessible only by the turbo-lift straight down from the AIOW of the Magics Chambers. Covered in warning labels in all the major languages, even braille, it is the door at the very bottom center of our spherical ship-like city, some calling it ‘the keel hatch’. Its yellow-and-black striped floor-door parts in half from the middle, opening to the sides to reveal a view down into the abyssal mouth of the uppermost tentacle that is part of the gigantic creature known as a Space Whale.

Reasoning:
This is more to keep the Space Whale’s long hibernation undisturbed, than it is to hide the creature’s existence or even keep people out. It isn’t so much that the thing is a secret, or needs protection, but the Inisfreeans like to leave ancient peaceful beings with a measure of ‘buffer zones’ between them and the modern mortals –who tend, invariably, to be insufferably annoying and perpetually problematic. If the Space Whale woke up, and decided to move, it would cause the worst earthquakes and tsunamis the planet has ever seen since its early formation and solidification. That wouldn’t harm Inisfree or its people at all, but it is something to be avoided until such an awakening and migration becomes absolutely necessary.
Inisfree’s Space Whale Hatch is the last barrier between our city and people… and the gigantic forgotten deity that lies beneath. When Inisfree leaves the Earth again, it will nearly expose the highest tip of the upward-positioned tentacle of that immense beast; that may be enough to stir it, especially of those once kept out by the Inisfreean presence then decide to come exploring and taking samples. For the next few centuries, though, all is well in hand, this special and lowest hatch of our city serving as the clear reminder that to disturb such a thing is to risk the fragmenting destruction of the entire planet.
