* After meeting Auz and inviting him to move in with her, he used high-speeder trading to gain a couple million overnight, which he spent on an upgrade of her loft-lab uptown. Diana now has her backup office & lab in Inisfree, and continues much of her work from New York. Her ongoing breakthroughs in ‘regenesis’ continue to save many lives.

Personality Assessment:
- A quiet and rather unassuming person, Diana Fairchild can and often has been overlooked simply because she never seems to be what people imagine when they read what she is trying to achieve or her often outspoken views. Although very intelligent and willing to push boundaries, in person Diana is very much willing to be ignored at large, refusing to draw attention to herself even if it is to her benefit. Although shyness is often used in place of quiet, Diana often knows this about herself enough to know that as she is the least threatening person usually in any given room, she can often fade away from the sight and minds of others without much problem.
- Where Diana finds her voice however is when discussing the fields of science which she loves more than anything else. With a strong passion for learning and with viewpoints comprised from a wealth of experience, Diana could talk for hours with someone about research, breakthroughs, ethics or new discoveries. Undaunted by the concept of what is possible and what is impossible, she has often entertained notions even beyond her realm of understanding as she truly thinks that any idea can have some merit to them, not matter how extreme they may seem. It is this open mind that makes Diana rather affable to others, often willing to follow along with ideas they have and enjoy the ride, she has been taken on trips, visits and to events she would never have dared go alone.
- Another trait that Diana has is a great deal of compassion and a willingness to help out any person in need, if it is within her power to do so. Possessing great empathy and a distinguished ability to see arguments from other sides than her own, she will do everything within her power to make sure that someone gets the help or care that they need, even at the expense of her own plans or wellbeing. This self-sacrifice is apparently an inherited trait from her father, who gave his life for what he believed was a higher cause. It has yet to be tested, this extreme sense of selflessness and loyalty within Diana herself, but all signs point to the same attitude and mentality.
- Finally, outside of her outer shell, Diana is quite the soft-hearted person with a quirky and bright side to her. When alone she often dances, hums or sings to herself, something she would be mortified to discover that others knew outside of her family and very close friends. With a love for dogs and ‘bad’ romantic novels, Diana spends the majority of any free time that she doesn’t dedicate to science just reading or trying to work up the courage to adopt a dog (which she won’t, because she thinks it unfair since she wouldn’t be able to spend enough time with it).
- Above all else, Diana is unshakable from what she believes to be the right thing to do. For all of her shying from a fight or avoiding confrontation, she has never once allowed it to change her ultimate goals or to betray any trust or friendship. Loyal to the end with a will forged in principles, her closest friend has observed that she would most likely die before going against her word.
- Beneath everything, Diana hides a very, VERY aggressive side that wants to take on the whole world. Only manifesting as an internal monologue, inner-Diana (given the name Violet) is a much more impulsive side with stronger emotional reactions than Diana would ever dream of acting on. Violet is the version of herself that she regularly daydreams as, her creative mind coming up with the possible scenario if she had been this alternative version of herself.

Abilities & Skills:
- Gifted Intellect: A skilled and very well read individual, Diana possesses a vast range of knowledge across a wide range of subjects, from classical literature, anatomy and history to nuclear physics, engineering, computer programming and biology. It is in biology however that Diana’s truest passion lies, specifically in the field of thanatology, which deals with the study of death and the processes involved in it. Considered by many, including her detractors, as a leading voice and visionary in the field, Diana has made scientific advances and discoveries that aim to shape the modern thinking on what is possible. So far her research has boasted success in plant subjects, bringing long dead samples back to life in sort periods, but Diana endeavors to one day be able to use this knowledge on a living animal subject.
- Computer Infiltration and Data Management: She is a very skilled hacker and data programmer, able to take control of a weather satellite long enough to gain numerous readings of the Manhattan Incident involving the Avengers, collecting the information and placing it into complex algorithms that have helped her advance her own research.
- Strong Willed: Although shy and retiring, Diana’s resolve has been proven to be ironclad when challenged, especially when pursuing her goals and ambitions. Despite her superiors and having many detractors in the scientific community, she has managed to stick to her goals and convictions. Even in the face of danger, she has managed to swallow her fears and instead try to make a difference, even if that difference is self serving, she believes wholeheartedly that she has something to contribute and whilst she isn’t sure what her impact on the world will be, she is determined not to let anyone throw her off that path.
- Multiple Languages: Diana has learned and speaks a number of language fluently including: Russian, French, German, Mandarin and Japanese

Historical Data:
- Diana Violet Fairchild was born in Brooklyn to SHIELD agent Garrett Fairchild and his civilian wife Maria. Whilst Diana was still a baby, her father was assigned to tail a former Soviet scientist, Alexander Sokolov, who was looking to sell Soviet secrets to terrorist cells in Asia, so Garrett was to gather as much intelligence as possible and with a small team he was to steal the information. All was going well until one of the criminals in attendance recognized one of the SHIELD agents and opened fire. Garrett managed to kill Sokolov and obtain the data disk before handing it off to another agent, insisting that they leave whilst he led a number of terrorists on a chase through Hong Kong, culminating in his death at a shipyard when he was finally caught. Maria took Diana to live with her parents, Martin and Laura Cain in The Bronx; a loving couple who never sought to replace or remove the memory of Garrett, but looked to support their daughter and grand-daughter however they could. Martin was a retired police officer working as a security guard at a museum and Laura, an aspiring artist, spent all the time she had free looking after Diana whilst Maria looked to get a job and contribute to the household.
- Throughout all of her childhood, Diana was loved and protected by her mother and grandparents, all of who possessed strong moral compasses and even stronger voices, something that Diana would come to lack in her life as not having a particularly loud one. A shy girl, slow to make friends and even slower to leave the safety of home, she found much of her inspiration and entertainment from her grandmother’s collection of classical literature and novels. Becoming very well read at an early age, the Cain household recognized Diana’s potential and, although they lacked any sizable funds, they pursued every opportunity to enhance her learning outside of school. At school, being quiet and very studious, Diana was an honor student but a complete social outcast, although her un-intimidating demeanor and seemingly uncanny ability to fade into a crowd spared her from making any enemies or attracting unwanted attention.
- In 2010 Diana attended a lecture being held across New York on molecular biology and the effects of micro bacteria on the human body after death. A macabre subject, but one that Diana had wanted to attend, so her grandparents gave her to bus fare and allowed her to go on her own at her insistence. Spending the entire day there, Diana met with thanatologist, Miles Maurer, who admitted to knowing about her from one of his old friends at her school. Sharing in scientific theory and finally finding her voice, Diana was fascinated with the ideas proposed by the doctor as their discussion led into the night. Offering to drive her home, Maurer took Diana through Harlem, where they both witnessed the catastrophic battle between The Hulk and The Abomination. Although both escaped the scene unscathed and never got too close to become involved, Diana and Dr. Maurer spent the rest of their journey discussing how mankind would have to contend with greater dangers, especially now beings like that now existed.
- Over the next few years, Diana would stay in contact with Maurer who would become one of her closest friends and one of the family in general. He would visit their home and with Diana they would debate the ethics and likelihood of bringing people back from the dead, with Diana firmly believing that saving lives meant nothing in the face of beings such as The Hulk who could lay waste to entire cities should they choose to. It was this friendship that saw Diana obtain a full funded scholarship to Cornell University, where Maurer was teaching biology at the time. Together they formed the basis around the theory of ‘regenesis’, a process in which an organic structure could regenerate from beyond fatality.
- It was in 2012 that Diana would watch the invasion of Earth by the Chitauri on television. As Manhattan was thrown into chaos, Diana used her computer in order to hijack a weather satellite and used it to download reading of pressure, radiation and other data on the site of the attack. By the time it had ended, Diana had an entire hard drive of information including the gamma signature of The Hulk, spikes in atmospheric pressure caused by Thor and the nuclear bleed of energy through the portal after Iron Man directed a nuclear missile into the alien armada. It would be many of the readings that Diana observed that would go on to serve as the basis for her first paper that, although unpublished, earned her the respect of several of her soon-to-be tutors at Cornell.
- Over the next two years, Diana would go on to impress her mark on the world of academia, blossoming under the tutelage of her friend and mentor, she was able to make vast strides in better making regenesis a reality. The biggest breakthrough came when they introduced gamma radiation to a plant injected with a serum that would cause the deceased subject to replicate cells with energy enough to stimulate new growth. Although the subject exploded in the test chamber, for 5 seconds the plant had returned to life, a revolutionary breakthrough as far as they were concerned.
- In 2015, Whilst making headway in her paper on regenesis, a paper that would hopefully spark the minds of potential investors in her research, Diana visited Maurer’s home country of Sokovia, where the doctor introduced her to his family. During her trip, she would come to witness firsthand the battle of Sokovia between the Avengers and Ultron. Although well outside the danger zone, the two were able to scan and process a great amount of information, from the energy signatures of the device that was levitating Novi Grad, to the vast burst of energy let off by The Vision’s blasts.
- The following year, Diana graduated with honors after her paper on regenesis was published to critical acclaim, although also a great deal of skeptics over the ethical nature of her work. Celebrating with her family, Diana told her mom about the SHIELD Helicarrier in Sokovia, which caused her to break down in tears. For the first time in her life, Diana was told the truth about her father and his profession, after spending all her life believing that he had been in the navy and died in a freak accident. Although initially feeling betrayed, Diana comforted her mom and thanked her grandparents for looking after them both for so long, but she promised that now she was going to look after them.
- Establishing a lab in Manhattan in a loft there, Diana gained financial backing from an investor, Mr Claude Aegis, who seemingly took a keen interest in her paper on regenesis. With equipment, resources and funding made available to her, the first thing that Diana did was invite her friend, Dr Maurer, to join her, although he respectfully declined on the grounds of spending more time with his family and helping them adjust to life in America. So it was without any outside help that Diana managed to continue her research and advance her theory towards becoming a reality. During the Blackheart Event, the rift between worlds meant that the experiment that Diana was running was infinitely more potent than it had ever been before, causing a stable regeneration in a plant subject and maintaining it throughout the Event, ending as the portal was closed.
- Recently, Diana has been trying to obtain any resources, materials or samples from the Blackheart Event, gaining more and more contacts outside of ‘reputable’ sources and getting more and more obsessed on her ultimate goal: bringing the dead back to life.

“-And just like that we solve the problem of the combustion element of regenesis! Simple when you just make a quick note,” Diana spoke confidently, stepping back from three whiteboards full of scribbles, doodles and complex equations, a content smile on her face as she placed her hands on her hips. Eyes happily scanning the morning’s work, her beaming grin became slowly replaced with a look of disappointment, walking to the left whiteboard she folded her arms across herself as her disappointment turned to concern, “But….Decreasing the power input there means that the process never gathers enough energy. So….It doesn’t.”
With a frustrated groan of exhaustion, she turned from the work and lifted the collar of her sweater up over her eyes and let out the combination of a squeak and a scream. Truly, with such a rage it was only a matter of time before concerns were raised; now it was sweaters but who knew about later on? Stamping feet? Slamming doors? It didn’t bear thinking about.
After a few moments of pure, unbridled fury, the tempest within Diana cooled until she could stand to face a good 2 hours worth of work. With a look of resigned defeat the young woman picked up the eraser and began to scrub it all away, sighing as she did so as she looked out towards the sun in the window. Diana’s eyes then noticed the alarm clock that was still yet to go off: 7am.
“Well. I think after that, I’ve earned breakfast.” A smile returning to her face, she almost skipped towards the small kitchen where she flung open a cupboard to show precisely nothing. The fridge told a similar story, of a girl who had neglected the ‘DO GROCERIES’ notices stuck over all her cupboards and the fridge door. As her stomach growled with discontent, Diana wandered over to the table and sat down, head resting on top of her crossed arms as she rested on the surface. As her head slumped down as if to sleep, she was snatched back to the world of the awake with a load buzzing noise.
Suddenly alert, Diana’s eyes fired towards the door to the apartment. The intercom. For her. Not that she had never had visitors before, but this early in the morning it was no-one she was expecting. Heading over, slowing down with every step down to a shuffle as all confidence that allowed her to command the empty room before drained to nothing. Raising a hand to the button she pushed softly and cleared her throat.
“H-*ahem*….Hello?” After a few moments of silence, Diana pressed again and reasserted, this time in a slightly louder voice, “Hello?”
Nothing. Nothing but static. Brow furrowing with confusion, the young woman checked the locks on her door and turned away from the intercom, heading back towards the kitchen.
BUZZ!
Turning back with a mixture of surprise and annoyance, Diana much quickly this time rushed her intercom and pressed the button, “Yes? Hello?” But again, there was nothing but silence from the other end. With a deep breath she reasoned that it must be kids playing with the intercom….at seven in the morning. But before she even pulled away the buzzer went twice more in quick succession.
“Yes? Hello! Who is it?”
But this time: a voice from the other side.

DIANA FAIRCHILD
21| HUMAN | DR. FAIRCHILD
–Character Profile–
Diana Fairchild is a cripplingly shy, unassuming doctor who specializes in the study of dead things, with the goal to bring them back to life using science or any means possible. A friendly woman, Diana struggles to make herself heard and struggles even more with confidence outside of the laboratory, which is located in Manhattan.
Eager to be helpful, she is easily led into bad situations or being involved in dark plots, just under the guise that she is actually helping people and making their lives better: the truth can be far from that fact.
She is usually found out of her depth, letting people walk all over her OR she’s in a lab presiding over strange experiments and working out difficult formulas.
–
2020 Update:
Diana has started going on three-way dates with equally-ambitious Emma Frost and unbelievably-ambitious Lord Auz. The three hit it off perfectly when they first hung out. They’ve been a triple (not couple) ever since –both in the bedroom and the boardroom– and they’re ensuring Dr. Diana finally gets to come out of her shy “shell”.
–
2022 Update:
She has been enjoying her own dedicated lab in Inisfree for some time now –and always will; it is reserved for her forever, and with the deep gratitude and trust of the High King.
–
2024 May/+:
With no more funding constraints, nor any flak from outsiders when she does some of her R+D in my (Auz’s) realm, this gorgeous brilliant scientist and born-healer has, with me and my ICVs assisting her (when she wants their help), determined that for her regenerated/resurrected plants/specimens to remain restored/alive once current is shut off… they need either of these conditions:
- purpose from within; their minds, or equivalent of brains at least, feeling they have reason to be alive again
- for Earth’s atmosphere to once again be like it was in prehistoric times; when the worlds were closer, Space was an atmosphere, planetary crusts weren’t blocking the flow of purpose-based (dictatorial/unwavering; pure focused doubtless) energy from the hollow-core stars (portals to Source/Creator), the people/minds around them helping hold the vision of how they shall be (restored), etc.
In my realm, many of those conditions are met, thus her experiments consistently produce far more stable results; resurrected flowers stay alive here when the current of her machine/tank is off, even when they are removed from the helpful medium/solution/fluid that fully disperses/transmits/balances that current.
Now, having realized and witnessed that, she is very glad my superpowers are being used to restore such conditions worldwide –and beyond. What she achieved in the controlled environment of her first office and prototype… is now being scaled up to the global and even cosmic levels.
Our perfect lovemaking continues to help her realize and develop even more steps to this amazing life’s work of hers.
No longer having to explain herself over and over to foolish Outlander-humans, her work has accelerated most agreeably to her, and her stress and other distractions nearly vanishing.
In the years ahead (even centuries, millennia, and more), she’ll live to see not just dead and dying plants naturally and permanently restored to their primes, but the earth itself; what has been long-petrified, assumed to be just inanimate mountains and other landforms, will eventually ‘thaw’ and blossom anew; Diana will witness the return of the World Trees, and even the Worlds Tree that dwarfs them all. This will validate her hunches, thinking, and work on the highest level. She deserves it; she is a wonderful and devoted visionary and genius.
