These are military facilities that are worth knowing about for this saga.

Introduction:

Most bases on, in, and beyond the Earth are too classified to list here.  It is safe to assume that every planet and moon has dozens, if not hundreds or more, of them now.  Many asteroids, comets, and the objects in the Kuiper Belt and Oort Cloud(s) do, too.

Examples of Major Non-civilian Installations:

  1. Ares Prime:  largest of the five American facilities on Mars
  2. Base 211:  the capital of Neuschwabenland, also called New Berlin
  3. Inisfree:  the capital of the Universe / Megaverse / Omniverse
  4. Lunar 1:  a large facility on the Moon
  5. MCAGCC:  largest USMC property, where live-fire practice-wars are routinely conducted
  6. NORAD (and hundreds of others like it, all linked)
  7. Nellis AFB (within/under the Area 51 fly-zone)
  8. White Sands Missile Range:  largest open-air firing range and impact zone

Bases are not to be confused with Space stations; bases are planet-side, while Space stations are in orbits and beyond.  Research stations are also not bases; stations of any kind tend to be mobile (like how Space stations are, when in orbit, constantly falling around their planet) or, at least, semi-mobile.  Bases are permanent, fixed/stationary, town-sized installations complete with all the facilities and amenities of a normal town or State-side base.  Often, entire fleets and armies are staged, housed, and trained at bases.

The smaller version of bases are called firm bases.  Smaller than those are the FOBs; Forward Operating Bases.  Anything smaller than that is just an outpost or field camp.

Most-classified Functions:

While it takes a rather-high security-clearance to be approved to work on, or in, any of the major bases, and especially on/in any of the underground or off-world ones, what most people working on/in those bases still are not made aware of… is that they are built into pre-existing cavities, not all of which are ‘natural’.  That is to say that 1) there were already precision-cut hollows, including subway tunnels and other transportation networks, when the first earth-movers and other workers got there, and 2) some of the pre-existing underground passageways were biological in nature; they indicated that remains of Titans and world-sized beings had become petrified, later being retrofitted by (sometimes unknown) ancient civilizations, as they were a convenient way to hide, shield themselves, and survive what would otherwise be extinction-level catastrophes.  Today, many of our own major bases are built on top of these sites, which helps mask their energy signatures from spy satellites and other forms of detection, and our major bases built down inside them are there, among other reasons, to occupy, clog up, and reverse-engineer those sites (a.k.a. beings; remains).

At first, the pre-existing tunnels were noticed, and major bases were put in them to serve as base-camps to better start and manage their exploration, mapping, and other study.  Then, more major bases were added, always deeper and deeper, to further secure these underground structures and territories, in part to close off potential intrusion, infiltration, and invasion routes that ground (surface) forces could not detect, let alone patrol and secure.  Finally, the most-recent major bases were added… in the deepest known points, and within all of the worlds our SSPs (Secret Space Programs) were able to reach, with the hope that they would eventually (re)discover the natures and destinies of those worlds… as petrified living beings (and artificial / intelligently-shaped inventions) themselves –and this includes the giant artificial structures that make up the rings of Saturn and other ring-encircled worlds.

So what did they find out there, in all those places, from all the work of their major and other bases?  How has it affected the ongoing operations and development of the major bases?  How will major bases in the future be designed, built, and used?  What are some of the major bases of the ancients, which ones were found in ruins, and which ones were still active when we got there?

More TBA…
