Story:

Technically, she led an exodus of her own; surviving humans from the area which used to be rebuilt Georgia… north-northwest to better/safer conditions for them.

In 2098 December 22 (near / right after midnight) when the rifts event started and Atlanta was burning, she was in charge of a battalion in rebuilt Atlanta, lost contact with everyone in her CoC, apparently was then the highest-ranking member of the Northern Eagle Military Alliance (N.E.M.A.) on the continent, so she then did her best to lead the evacuation NNW (to the Ohio safe-zone). They didn’t know how much magical randomness/danger was now ahead on that route, but she managed to get most of them through it.

55 during that year?  Looks 20.  Will still only look ~30 in her 90s.  The genetic engineering of Outlander humans during her era is that good –even though many of them are still idiotically nonvegan.

She kept her minor psionic abilities onset secret from everyone, as it had become misunderstood and as taboo during her time as witchcraft during the Salem witch persecutions era. We Inisfreeans foresee and sense things like that, though, and took pity on her, seeing enough common ground to let her know of us.

NEMA transitioned into the fascist Coalition States (C.S.) during her lifetime –fascist because they thought total control of the remaining normal humans was the only way to keep humankind alive, not realizing that all the harmful stuff coming through the rifts was because they had stayed how their generations defined “normal”; nonvegan, overreacting, panicking, generally negative across the board.

Rifts:

In the early days of the 2098 cataclysm (though it actually helped end the cataclysm that humanity is, thus it was an anti-cataclysm), rifts could open anywhere on ley-lines, not just nexuses (ley-line intersections).

Ley-line energy spikes around or after midnight because most are asleep then, thus their minds are no longer reined in with work distractions, TV brainwashing, 5G-tower cell-phone signals traffic, etc..

A nuke killing a million people doubles their potential psionic energy (P.P.E.) because that energy is no longer held within the bodies, no longer tapped and spent to move body parts,
and it is negative PPE because they were all shocked/terrified by the explosion,
and then you have the negative-energy surges from the dying, the wounded, the witnesses, those who hear about it, nonhuman wildlife also hurt or killed, and on and on,
so while that ley-line is overloaded and spewing that energy into adjacent ley-lines, those other ley-lines around the world are also getting neg PPE dumped into them because of those hearing about the event.

What came through the rifts was not random; lots of humans died because all they then thought of was bad; fear, murder, non-veganism, randomness/chaos, drama from bad TV and comics, changing their own bodies with drugs and surgeries, etc., and all that got amplified and echoed out of the rifts.
The rifts are conduits between the pyramids and geoglyphs, and those things already amplified whatever went into them, so imagine them connected and synergizing.
Chaos in, more chaos out.
When dimension-beings came out and killed lots of humans, that reduced the chaotic minds-energy feeding the rifts, thus fewer harmful randomness came out of the rifts.
When humans killed those things coming out if the rifts, and bred or engineered and cloned more replacement humans, more chaotic minds-energy fed the rifts.

The more humans killed things that came through, the more violence got amplified, thus the more deadly things came next.
The reason there were so many rifts is because humanity had decided to have no singular culture or vision/goal; everyone was doing their own things, and that was part of the chaos that got amplified.
If humanity had been unified and watching only nice normal things on TV, the planetary alignment would have only caused an increase in stability and normalcy, possibly even unnoticed.
But all those differences led to so much tension that had to be released, thus all the storms.
A few dozen distinct ways of life… got amplified into thousands of distinct rifts.

If humans hadn’t been so insanely obsessed with mindless diversity to the point of self-harm / degeneration, extra diversity (i.e. new creatures and problems) wouldn’t have come through those rifts.

Time and space aren’t meaningless at rifts; different places and times become linked because someone thought about them, and the positive (magic-enhancing) ley-lines manifested those thoughts.

Dogs are not the natural enemy of all evil supernatural creatures; dogs are evil, like all/most things which are nonvegan.
Dogs might defend Some humans at all costs, but that is because dogs are as mindless, amoral, and brainwashed as most human troops.

Atlantis returned during this time because the Earth needed those good beings again; to stabilize the chaos the idiotic humans had unleashed.
Also, those humans had been reduced to ~15% of what the human population had been in 2098 before the cataclysm, thus it was much easier for the Atlanteans to be outside on the outer surface again; fewer pests, and less idiot mind-energy, than before.
Atlantis was/is not now ruled by bad beings.

The more non-magic people avoided rifts, and the more magic-people learned to use ley-lines safely, the more the appearance of rifts and harmful entities from rifts decreased, thus the P.A. dating system; when things calmed down by ~200 years after the 2098 cataclysm, and when historical records were once again being reliably kept (many lost during those 200 years), it made sense to start numbering years from 0/1 again.

Population estimate during the Rifts centuries

Much of this timeline is laughably wrong, based on poorly-written lore.
Example: Ley-lines were on Mars millennia ago, as were Elves in South America.

Nukes tested in the desert in the USA during the last 20th century, and out on islands, and even in Space, were probably not to refine that tech’, but to stress-test known ley-lines and their intersections, if not also their nodes.  Since the ley-lines system was built by superpowered giant pre-humans, engineered to easily handle a vastly-greater energy-load, and surges on the level of solar-flares, those pitiful little modern-human weapon detonations barely had any noticeable effect on that system at all.  If only they’d figured out that nuking living sapient beings right on a ley-line, one of the ley-lines intersections, or one of their nodes, would do far more; the 2098 crisis might have been averted.

Even though the Inisfreeans (ICVs) attacked and deleted all human civilization in 2013, ending billions of humans within hours,

  • the start of that attack was not startling explosions,
  • many slept through it,
  • all the released PPE was more of awe or confusion or being mind-override pacified,
  • it was not during a new Moon or solstice or planetary alignment,
  • wildlife was protected,
  • the ICs naturally automatically absorbed all the PPE along with the bodies and building matter,

and so on; billions dying in that smooth, quiet, rapid, no-fallout way, all of them bad, all good people spared, meant the ley-lines were not overloaded like they would be near the end of 2098 (Rifts story).

  • Also, the Inisfreean craft (ICs) naturally emitted Auz’s calming energy/effect miles beyond them, and that kept most humans calm, but also kept the ley-lines calm.

With global human communications shut down, no one knew what was happening to the rest of their civilization, so panic did not spread more than just however many happening to notice buildings seeming to disappear into the clouds/fog generated by the HAARP tech’ / repulsine fields of the ICs.

Ley-lines used to be perfectly regulated by the World Trees, Elves, Fairies, and others, but with those all seemingly gone, in response to the unwanted modern human civilization/presence/mindsets, only the Inisfreeans had the means and knowhow/nature to keep that global magical power-grid under control.

The strategy of the leaders of modern humanity; building most of their civilization away from the magic-feeding (positive) nodes, instead near and on the magic-reducing (negative) nodes, was another contributor to the cataclysm only suffered by the humans; it prevented nearly all of them from gaining understanding of what was happening, it kept their psionic members weak or even unaware of their abilities, it kept them mortal, it kept them fatigued, it kept them infighting, it kept them scrambling daily for more sustenance and sleep and other forms of release, and it emitted almost only negative/harmful/taking beings, thus ~90% of dimensions beings (“D-bees”) seeming hostile.
The beyond-humans and very few humans who had instead chosen to keep or start their communities on the positive nodes experienced the polar opposite of all that, especially when the system overload of 2098 happened; it caused impenetrable forcefields of protection for their remote settlements and individuals, shielding them from everything, revealing amazing truths about all of reality, generating more kind and helpful and powerful beings who would always want to help those remote peoples, and so on.
This is part of how a pole-shift’s tidal waves and hurricane-force winds only harm bad civilizations which chose to stay weak.

“The Post-Atomic Horror takes place between 2053 and 2123.”
That Star Trek lore coincides with the Rifts “apocalypse”.
There are no coincidences, some say.
It may be that the humans of the Star Trek era (which starts 52 years after the Rifts event, and lasts until present-day in the Rifts RPG) were told some misinformation so as to keep the secret of the little-understood Rifts secret.
They kept being sent to explore Space… because Space seemed easier to understand and survive in than near the Rifts they still didn’t realize their own brainwashing or essences were causing to echo back harmful creatures from.
Also, their sensors/tech’ weren’t designed to detect ley-lines on other worlds, at least when they were so subtle, practically dormant. It would be a long time before enough of them had colonized other worlds to the point of overloading those other worlds’ ley-lines systems/grids out there.

Did the ley-lines system overload… or do exactly what it was designed to? Its rifts started reconnecting realms (not necessarily making new connections to ones meant to have stayed separate), and trimming the human metastasis back (via letting in things as harmful as them, and which seemed to only target them, leaving the innocent creatures alone), rebalancing the world, liberating lands from horrible human cities, restoring normal male dominance and female submissiveness via the slaver creatures, etc..
Humans always saw things in the worst way, never accurately; anything that stopped them from being bad… was a disaster in their eyes.
The rifts will open again, the ley-lines system will surge back to original full activity again, and eventually… humans will be fully under control.

Lindsey & Auz:

I (High King Auzdein von Himmler) met her years after she had evacuated those people, so nearly a century after the 2013 event; The Rapture. She had been born ~half a century after the 39 cities got rebuilt, well on their way to becoming the megacities of Judge Dredd’s era.

Since she is too tall to be allowed in my realm (max. height for females to be prescreened is ~5’7″), I only visit her in the Outlands, and in my 6’2″ (max. height) form. I dress for these meetings the way that blends in for her civilization/era/base/office.

Her psionic abilities help her sense I am a goodguy and not trying to lead her astray via my rifts hunch.

She noticed me noticing her one meeting. I politely averted my gaze, saying she is lovely, thus my distraction from our conversation.
She felt my effect make her interested, almost panting, her chest visibly rising and falling. Then she, too, looked away, fighting for self-control, reminding herself of her monumental responsibilities.
I assured her in my steady, almost quiet voice, looking back at her eyes before they re-met mine, “I respect your position, how you have to live, what you are trying to do…”
She decided she needed to feel more of our amazing connection, and closed the distance, straddling my lap.
We made love that whole evening, then basked in the afterglow, she resting on my chest, so glad to be feeling me, and feeling like she finally could be a woman, not just a figure or savior everyone in her realm was desperate for.

We ended up talking about the soft-disclosure I had come across years ago, and my theory about how the rifts functioned. I said I didn’t expect her to dare testing such a different theory, so many lives lost and on the line.
She was clearly intrigued, though, it resonating with her remarkably well, considering what she had witnessed during her own exodus from rebuilt Georgia.

I now check on her in secret, not using the communications network of her civilization, and she appreciates this, likewise checking on me, finally having a use for her hush-hush abilities.
When she is stressed, she asks for me to visit again.
We always smile when we see each other, and make love for hours before napping, only after getting into talk, catching up.

We kept meeting semi-regularly for a century; whenever we both had spare/down time.

She started using her tech’ to clandestinely monitor the thoughts of deployed troops, seeing if their negative thoughts had correlation or causation to what came out of the rifts… and her jaw dropped, and she got chills of wonder, and her eyes widened at the footage/feeds and data on her command screens, when she realized… I was right.

2200-2300; a century after she evacuated people from all around burning Atlanta.
I was mostly away during business hours, portal-ing out to coordinates of interest my fleet was introducing to me during their daily briefings (during our Mapping Campaign), so I rarely met with her.

She ended up living longer than the 180-year common lifespan of the rebuilt cities’ “golden age”, thanks to exposure to me, though her genetic engineering already guaranteed her something like 150.

Her beauty (correct form/genetics), cleverness/intelligence, heroism, and work ethic, plus of course her bond with me, made her a perfect candidate for the few of her kind who would be allowed to remain on Earth after the 2313 purge via dragons.
By that time, she was older than 250, and had more than 2 centuries of experience dealing with things such as dragons, so she was perfectly able to professionally work through the 2313 purge, even though it terrified others of her kind.
I made sure her data/work was backed up well in advance of those dragons and the pole-shift tidal-wave/s that followed them; even when the cities she uad helped protect got razed, their charred rubble blown and washed away, and they then mostly buried in mudfloods, she didn’t lose any of her projects’ progress, at least data-wise.
I also made sure some of my ICVs helped her rebuild whatever she needed; to start over/anew.

2396 A.D. was less than 2 years from being 3 centuries since the dramatic increase in the ley-lines and rifts and planetwide magical/psionic abilities; everyone (human “normies”) was used to hearing about and avoiding such places and powers now.

It had also been 83 years since most humans on Earth in 2313 were forced off-world –by dragons many of those humans assumed were part of the ongoing rifts increase/issues (though, as Rifts lore states, few save the human elites/leaders know about rifts at all, even though there are now thousands of rifts). Nearly a century is plenty of time for those left to again rebuild, increase their numbers, etc..
