Peter Parker hasn’t been the only one to unlock and master some of the abilities of the extraterrestrial species called spiders; this girl whose line hails from the opposite side of the planet did, as well.

PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT

Cindy began as a very sheltered girl; quiet, focused on her books as her parents wanted her to be the top of the class. She had been listed as a genius though she knew this was more to do with her ability to recall anything that she had read or seen she need only see, hear, or read it once for it to be put to memory. She realized that this was factor of her memory rather than being a gift of a high IQ or being an actual genius like Peter Parker. If there was a problem to figure out or a configuration that she has not seen before, it is more likely she will not be able to arrive at the correct answer without putting in some effort.

She is not very competitive when it comes to academics as her parents had hoped she would be and highly competitive when playing in a uniform such as when on the hockey field. While she is very respectful of authority she has a rebellious streak that comes to light. Curious to a fault, she will ask many questions most of them on the subjects at hand.

Out of costume she is shy when it comes to flirting and will more likely do things that she would have otherwise not done. In costume, the sass is out of hand; she loves it, as the costume provides a kind of freedom that she could not fathom. She flirts freely and enjoys every moment of it. She does not like what had been done to her and refuses to let it happen again. Being in locked rooms, cells, or containment will cause high levels of anxiety and panic to set in, and continuous exposure to this can result in a very violent break. Drawing blood causes another violent outbreak, as the man that had her used a serum crafted from her spider DNA on himself, resulting in the deaths of others and his own death as it caused him to rapidly deteriorate.  She does not want this again, and so she refuses to let her blood be drawn from herself. However, she knows she cannot stop the rabid fans of her Spider’s Web blog; she has seen them rifle though bins for a Starbucks cup that has ‘Silk Spider’ written in black on it.  If they want to follow her around and hope for her to be injured enough to obtain a deteriorated sample, she cannot stop them.

In her youth she had been accepted early to Oxford, and now based on her SATs and her previous transcripts she will be attending Empire State University.  She is very excited to continue her studies among her friends she has made over the past year.

TECHNOLOGY

SILK SPIDER SUITS

Three Suits, two of them in black and red, one of them in white, black, gray and gold. All to fully protect her identity. Though in a pinch she makes her own from her webs.

FEATURES

• Vibranium Claws: T’Challa took a liking to the unusual fighting style of the Spider, and now her claw-capped fingers and her up-close-and-personal attacks are performed with the very same material his people have used for so long. Like his suit, Cindy’s gloves sport retractable Vibranium claws which are a go-to when she needs to cut away her webs or other things.

• Tracers: A number of very small tracking devices once activated send a signal to SHIELD, they also open a COM link on another device though if that device is not working they send out a distress call.

• SHIELD Energy Shield: She does not use it often as it is a new addition to her suit but it is there and for a number of days she stood before a reflective surface just so she could look at it.

POWERS

SPIDER PHYSIOLOGY

Cindy Moon aka Silk possesses the powers of a spider, granted to her when the same irradiated Spider that bit Peter Parker, bit her as well. This spider bite triggered numerous body-wide mutagenic changes; granting her superhuman strength, speed, toughened flesh/skin, and more. Unlike Spider-Man, she has less superhuman strength, but she possesses a higher level of agility and a far more sensitive Spider-Sense.

• Wall-Crawling: She understands it differently as the observation subject of a scientist which could be counted among the ‘mad’. Because of his interference Silk sees her ability to cling to most surfaces as an ability to mentally control electrostatic force between the surface layers of her hands and feet and other surfaces.

• Superhuman Strength: Silk possesses superhuman strength enabling her to press lift much more than a natural human, though this is significantly less strength than Spider-Man. Silk’s strength in between three to four metric tons. Four tons would in actuality put heavy strain on her and she would not be able to maintain her hold of it for very long.

• Superhuman Stamina: Silk’s advanced musculature and minor healing factor produces much less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the ordinary human. This allows her to exert herself for much longer periods of time before any activity begins to impair her.

• Superhuman Durability: Silk’s body is physically tougher and more resistant impact forces that would severely injure or kill a normal human with little to no discomfort. She can withstand falling from a height of several stories or being struck by an opponent with super strength beyond her own(Like Spider-Man’s); this first manifested when she was struck by a car.

• Minor Healing Factor: When something does manage to cause bruises, cuts and scrapes these injuries close and heal over in a matter of minutes depending on the extent and depth. Broken bones take hours and still hurt up to a week later. When they are meshed together such as a blow to her eye where there would be swelling and weeks of healing, such would happen over a day or three, though this is not something she tested or knows to any extent.

• Silk-Sense: Silk possesses an extrasensory danger sense which some times continuously warns her of potential immediate danger by the manifestation of a tingling sensation in the back of her skull, and links with her superhuman kinesthetics, enabling her to evade most any injuries, unless she cognitively overrides her automatic reflexes which she does most often. Her Spider-Sense is more what was termed as being more advanced than Spider-Man’s though in truth it is just more sensitive and has instilled an unhealthy level of anxiety.

• Superhuman Speed: Silk is capable of running and moving at speeds that are far beyond the natural physical limits that have been presently recorded on the athletic scale. She is the fastest of the Spiders with the ability to run at peak 40mph though not sustained speed and move with a cohesion that might cause others to believe that she has precognition. Her sustainable speed is clocked at 33mph but only for a max of three hours without rest.

• Superhuman Agility: The Spiders agility, balance, and bodily coordination are all enhanced to levels that are far beyond the natural physical limits. Her agility is more advanced than Spider-Man’s and this is due to her Silk-Sense and unnatural super human speed she is known to be quite difficult to pin down.

• Superhuman Equilibrium: Silk is able to achieve a state of perfect equilibrium with all that was mentioned before and her lifestyle prior to being bitten in addition to having far too much time on her hands alone in a large bunker. Due to her Silk-sense she able to adjust her position, which enables her to balance herself on virtually any object, no matter how small or narrow in any position imaginable.

• Superhuman Reflexes: Silk’s reflexes are similarly enhanced to Peter’s and are possibly about 40 times greater than those around her. In combination with her ‘spider-sense’, the speed of her reflexes allows her to dodge almost any attack even gun fire if far enough.

• Biological/Organic Webbing Generation: She has the ability to organically produce her own silk webbing from glands within her forearms that exit at each finger tip from under her nails. These webs are limited by her body’s health and nutrition. While these organic webs have many of the same properties as Spider-Man’s artificial webbing, she can also weave them into clothing or bandages. One web line from one finger can have the tensile strength of three hundred pounds per square inch, when five are woven together the strength is off the charts, due to her control over this the webbing had have many different functions including web netting to distract or even capture, or even stronger like a trampoline. She releases her organic webbing through her fingertips and some times entirely by accident due to emotional stress.

• Clawed/barbed webs: She has the ability to form claw-like extrusions from her fingertips usually only when she is angry as her emotional changes cause changes in her webbing on a chemical level. At times her anchor lines have these barbs that can cut into flesh and have to be removed surgically or left to dissolve on their own.

• SuperSpidey Tracking: Silk can track, sense and even find the exact location of the one and only Spider-Man anywhere, this does not work for anyone else, and does not work when locked in her bunker underground. This Spidey Tracking has a secondary ability that also only works on/with Spider-Man, there is a need to protect or be near to one another, it is something that she constantly fights against.

ABILITIES/SKILLS

• Eidetic Memory: Perfect recall, all she needs to do is read something once and it is shuffled into a part of her mind that she can recall at any point. It is to a level that she can not only call the name of the book and the author but the page number and the location on the page where the piece of information can be found. She does this for dates and faces as well, her parents faces and her brother’s features are burned into her mind though they are something she tries to replace.

• Sensory Overload: She still suffers from sensory overload even a year later, she has found ways of coping with it, most often putting herself into the city to get accustomed to the high levels of information that comes to her. Learning to Dial out most arguments or ‘dangers’ that are not dangers such as flying insects and dangers that are not all that dangerous. She also uses constant playlists of music to deaden these moments.

• • Loves: Pokémon – Anything it is more of an addiction, and should she ever find out about Pokémon Go, that would be one thing to focus on over her silk sense.

HISTORICAL DATA

• Cindy started off as an average over achieving sheltered teenager, her parents controlled her every day life which started off with swimming in the early hours of the morning to school, to hours of gymnastics or Tae Kwon Do, then back to swimming before home and home work. Of course they wanted what was best for her and for that she had started to rebel. Her Eidetic Memory made her book smart, an A+ student and on the level with the brightest minds though in truth that is only if she has seen something or read something, seen the formula once before. However she was lumped in with the ‘smart kids’, the ‘science nerds’ and it was something that her parents focused on that and her chance at early acceptance to Oxford University; while all Cindy wanted to do was play hockey. She was forced to go on a school trip rather than take part in a Hockey match. It was during this trip that her life would be forever changed along with another student Peter Parker.

• After a few days of missing school her secret boyfriend called to check on her, that let the cat out of the bag and provided the means for an argument in the Moon house. The argument was over him and how he was a bad influence it was through his encouragement that she tried out for the hockey team and it was this moment that had her stand up to her parents. It however went terribly wrong and resulted in her being called a freak by her own father after she webbed them both to the walls of their living room. Cindy fled the house and webbed more things out of fear of not only herself but the sensations that traveled down her spine; which included a neighbor’s dog that jumped at the fence she leaned on and the windshield of a car that still managed to hit her knocking her clear across the street.

• She woke partially as she was under heavy sedation, in what she figured was a hospital being told that she needed help, and that a man, a doctor could help her, that he could make her better. Her mother brought her a few of her things which included her plush Staryu Pokémon and her Nintendo DS with her Pokémon games. She was moved into an underground Bunker believing that she would be taught how to control her abilities instead she was monitored from another location after her senses and reflexes nearly killed a scientist who was supposed to be collecting samples of her blood and skin tissue. Her parents believed that she would be cured of the Mutation.

• She left the bunker and from the moment she stepped out the doors she felt it, a nagging sensation that would not go away. Outside did not look like a place she recognized and then it happened that Silk-sense kicked in stronger than before she was attacked, her senses flooded just by being outside. Beaten, bruised and bleeding she retreated to the bunker and locked herself inside, though she was ever curious of the world outside she would never step back out, instead she let others feed her information on what was happening which was hardly if ever the truth. Slowly over time she began to fear the world and asked for less and less of the news. She entertained herself by the use of her ability, using all that she knew before and expanded on it with her own feeling.

• The Scientist that had held her captive was recently arrested after he injected himself with a substance he had made from her genetic DNA, that resulted in a psychotic break rather than powers. He then proceeded to go on a wild rampage which ended with an attempt on another highly acclaimed genetic physicist who had won the government contract over him. Some of his work, his research was made public including that of a test subject he called a spider woman being held in an underground bunker. A woman with the same abilities as Spider-man.

• Spider-man mostly rescued her and she spent many months on Governor’s Island though she did not feel, welcome or like she was adjusting to life outside of the bunker as well as she should be. She felt as though she wasn’t really getting the help she needed, she certainly did not want to be forced into Hero duty and so she left it all behind and did not look back. She met with Coulson shortly before Blackheart and shortly after her nineteenth birthday.

• Blackheart Part one- Cindy hid from the event in her bunker until she could not hide anymore, she chose to don her costume of webs and went out to help rescue children from a hospital that was close to her bunker. She ended up rescuing and helping members of the WATCH and was taken back to the island due to her injuries. Suiting up in an Avengers training Suit to help support her injuries they let her remain in the facilities as they could not keep her sedated or in a bed.

• Blackheart Part two- the WATCH was attacked and again she found herself running into the danger and helping others. One of these key people was Black Panther, King T’Challa, others were Beau (Lockheed), Carol Danvers (Miss Marvel) and Kitty Pryde. Leaving that fight with three of them severely injured they crashed in an apartment with Cindy Patching them up as best she could before she lost consciousness as well.

• A month after Blackheart she joined Shield and worked with Both the Secret Avengers and the Secret Warriors, filling in a spot when they needed it. Both teams have grown since her joining so she has gone back to securing her life outside of Hero/Spy work. Signing up and getting acceptance to ESU at the end of July was the height of her Summer vacation.

RP SAMPLE

“No, no, no…. I cannot believe my memory card was corrupted now I lost all my Pokémon! Again.” Cindy muttered to herself while she looked at the ‘new game’ option of the log in screen and snapped the Nintendo DS shut. She had not heard from Doctor Franks in a few days, she counted the number of scores she had put in a poster of Eminem, he was usually there to check in on her, perhaps something happened to him. Perhaps those people who considered those like her a freak had gotten to him. He protected her from the outside from those that would kill her and apparently it was like they were not even citizens anymore. The more she thought about it the more she began to panic, if she ran out of food she would have to go out those bunker doors. Though that was in three months if she rationed the military food style packs well.

It was day five and there was still no word. Cindy began pacing the bunker, first she paced near her room which was for sleeping and had a bed that was suspended from webbing connected to the ceiling. She then needed more space and so she paced from there into the gym and very small pool area. The pacing continued as she became more and more worked up as she continued to think of how they must be torturing him for protecting those like her. Before she knew it she was no longer pacing with her hair falling down the center of her back, with her arms folded her firm steps had her on the ceiling pacing the elevated structure. Her hair fell in such a manner that when she passed a mirror she smiled. “I am a troll.”

She pressed her hands on either side of her head “You cannot do anything from in here, if you go out there you’ll die. They will kill you they already tried once.” though who they were she did not know. “Keep it together!” she warned herself. Then she dropped to the ground and walked to her collection of personal things. She pulled out her last year book and in it she looked at everyone from the science class, everyone that went on the field trip. She called them each by name and found them in the year book itself. She found the picture of her boyfriend first… he wouldn’t want to be with her anymore. She was assured that he did not want to see her anymore.

Her fingers traced over his features then she felt that sense go off and she rolled out of her seat and across the floor, landing in the three point pose with one hand holding the book to her chest. A fly had found it’s way inside and almost landed on her. Quickly she shot it with a web from her finger tip then blew the tip of the same finger before she settled on the floor to continue looking at the pictures in the yearbook. “Peter Parker, he was such a smart guy, I hope he is alright, those boys in school were pricks.”

The tingling again came, they were coming, who ever it was they were coming. She turned off all the lights in the bunker and found herself positioned on the ceiling again. Stuck there and waiting, and waiting, and still waiting a half an hour later.

She dropped to the ground again…. “False alarm stupid fly.”

“The Big Deal”:  Her Progression and Mentality

After Blackheart Cindy has had a personality shift, she is the hero that she was meant to be. She saved WATCH members and she left. She made an impression on T’Challa whom she has the utmost respect for. Should he call on her she would answer the call. She has built a family in her head out of the mixture of people she has met.

Jemma stands in for her Mother who is much better than her actual mother, Luke Cage a much better far more awesome Father, Daisy the big sister that gets her into way too much trouble but gets her out of it to, Beau her far too good looking, lovely distant cousin and T’Challa the uncle/godfather who spoils her with presents.

Other people that have made a heavy impact on her to note are Deadpool and most importantly Simon Wonderman, who is more than a Brother; he is someone she respects and would never ever want to stand against.  She would not want to fight him.

Current Distractions:

  • Pokémon hunting distracts her from her Silk sense that is always on paranoid.
  • She is being hunted “My very own Nemesis!” Her Hero Status has been solidified. “You are not a real hero until you have at least one.”
  • SPIDER—VENOM—MAN She needs to help him, but she also needs to protect him.

Coming Threads:

  • SHIELD fun times
  • Getting better and going into Mojo’s 4th Wave

Cindy & Auz:

After Auz wrapped up his contract helping the heroes recover from the Mojo-verse event, his searching for other exceptionally good people, always becoming more surgical, led him to encounter Cindy.  The two did what all college kids do.  Then they started getting to know each other.  What began as a crush and fling turned into nerd-out sessions where they continuously wowed each other.

Spider-girl, as he calls her, is now a regular guest in Inisfree, where she is often seen using her abilities to swing by silk strands to and from the skyscrapers of the city’s Sotu area, working her away around the triple-decker super-highway sections there.  Her residence is, naturally, in Sotu, as well; she lives in a luxurious suite in one of the Sotu skyscraper-sized bridges, hundreds of stories above the ground-level traffic below.  Auz visits her there where they continue their nerd-out ‘friend’ sessions in total peace and prosperity, and his ICVs are her new computers and lab assistants, helping her to get all her best ideas into production right away.

Auz used to regard Pokémon, and all similar shows and card games, as something lame, played only by disgusting fat lazy retards.  Then a smokin’ hot girl asked him to play it with her, acting flirty and adorable the whole time, and he started to understand; it was all a matter of setting and company.  Fast-forward to today, long-after that Phase-2 turning of the proverbial tide, and you might walk in on him shuffling a hand for another round with Cindy.  Every now and then they make it through more than ten card matches before tackling each other for what they love even more.
