When I had health issues, I did what most people do; I turned to EMTs, hospitals, doctors, counselors, psychologists, the VA, clinics, specialists, and pharmaceuticals. All of that made my health issues 1,000 times worse, and added many other ailments to my list. In fact, trusting those ‘professionals’ very nearly killed me several times, and it was only by cutting all contact with them, daring to go out on my own, doing my own medical research, and finding what actually works for me as an individual, that I ever managed to recover. So what is it that actually worked for me… when all those other ‘trusted’ sources of medical advice and assistance failed?
I’ll start with some of simple solutions, then work this following list further into the more revolutionary ones:
- Electro-derman screening to determine my best possible diet
- No more pills; the ” ‘farmacy’, not pharmacy” concept
- Removing all the ‘middle-men’; no more experts or people who can make special remedies I cannot make for myself at home (no more adding layers of complexity and dependency to my problems; solving them myself)
- Hiking in the mountains
- Moving away from the cities, they doing more harm than good
- Finding places where pollution has never been known
- Camping
- Climbing
- Holistic wellness; understanding the roots and how they all affect each other, not just trying to remedy symptoms
- Stargazing, especially during meteor showers
- Keeping a journal
- Returning to my childhood and adolescent hobbies of art & design
- Adding to my dreamhouse design
- Being my own therapist, never again talking to others that way
- Meditation
- Acupuncture –and acupressure
- CrossFit
- Le Parkour
- Massage therapy
- Aroma therapy
- Chroma therapy
- Sound spas, a.k.a. gong baths
- Eating only when I become hungry, no longer at set times (though the Chinese have a logical idea about most bodies being wired to best benefit from eating within certain time periods during the day)
- Sleeping only when I become sleepy, establishing my own form of sleep hygiene
- Taking breaks when I can tell I need them, not forcing myself to only take brief ones at predetermined times laid out for entire companies
- No longer working for companies that have grown too large to know all their people and keep the people, not the metrics, first
- Taking time off when I can tell it is right to do so, not trying to force my weekly unwinding into specific days or spans of time; no more weekends
- Saying what’s on my mind, rather than holding it all back (but timing this ‘venting’ so that it does not result in lame backlash from primitive people)
- Being myself so that I immediately know who is meant to work with me and who is meant to be somewhere else
- Wearing comfortable clothing that lets my skin breathe; no more suits or other restrictive, uniform garments
- Letting my hair grow out so that I can better feel the breeze
- Traveling to all places that interest me, never putting such important adventures off until retirement –when I would be too old to fully enjoy them and put their lessons to use
- Combining all I’d learned instead of trying to do just one thing; sampling all jobs and walks of life, no more ‘career’ mindset holding me back and stressing me out, and accepting that variety in both diet and vocational exploration is healthier for people than trying to hold onto any one profession
- Never again drinking –even socially, as it is nothing but a toxin (and because it has always worked as the opposite of a ‘social lubricant’ for me; those who drink have done nothing but repulse me)
- Keeping all toxic relationships out of my life for good
- Keeping all naysayers cut off for good; no more default negativity
- Terminating all unproductive relationships without hesitation
- Developing lifestyles and relationships which helped restore my health and happiness, rather than trying to make myself fit into lifestyles and relationships established by total strangers who knew nothing about me or my type
- Living on my own terms, free and self-supporting
- Ignoring all inappropriate attempts at micro-management
- Walking away from toxic work environments
- Creating jobs that suit me, instead of fruitlessly searching for ways to fill existing jobs that had nothing to do with my gifts, whenever they randomly showed up online
- Ignoring false debt; extortion through exaggerated medical bills and scams
- Deciding what my credit is, rather than letting strangers
- Ignoring all boundaries I did not have a say in; traveling wherever I please, and wherever the locals want me as a guest (respecting only the bounders of those who respect mine)
- Detaching from all systems which do not represent me
- Only acquiring assets which are productive and bring in more money or other forms of wealth; I no longer buy anything which does not increase and double my portfolio, and even if it is a piece of land then that land will be growing things all day and year long
- Stopping my global search for a city, people, and country that felt right to me, and instead designing and starting my own –just as George Washington and so many others did before him
- Waiting patiently for my own personal spiritual experiences rather than trying to mimic those of others on a regularly scheduled basis, and restoring the original definitions of all terms rather than letting them be conveniently redefined by the many thousands of denominations metastasizing today
- Learning to look through all claims and professed histories to see and discover what really happened, what actually works, and where I am destined to be and go next
Not all of these things will work for you, but I’m guessing many will. I recommend trying them and anything else you can think of. Experiment and see how many more options and solutions are available to you than even the best doctors are aware of. While you are on this journey, I will help as your guide for so long as you think I should. I will help you learn about each of these things and more. I’ve found that in helping and teaching others, and being open to them helping and teaching me, some of the most profound healing and development occurs. We are all both students and teachers at the same time, after all.
Lastly, perhaps the most important thing to keep in mind is that what we have been told is ‘full’ health, or health restored, is not actually healthy at all; there are so many more levels of health and fitness which most people have never even heard of –or even imagined. I encourage each of you to keep pushing the limits, seeing just how healthy you can be. I think the true end results will pleasantly surprise you. I know they did me.
