Introduction:

Horseback riding is something rather timeless.  Who knows when it really began?  Perhaps it started as far back as when the pre-Hyperborean Polarians were trying out their first shapes/forms, one of them becoming humanoid, the other… horse-oid.

Here in Inisfree, we offer training and free-riding options for our residents and guests.  There are many horses here, all of them treated as people, not pets.  You can find them using their stables at will, though more often than not they are out trotting and galloping around here –if they aren’t making their way over to some of our realm’s meadows.

Disclaimer:

We 100% recognize that “horses are not vehicles”, and we never treat them like ones, nor like property/slaves.  We also absolutely never strain/hurt/kill any for races, as has been the case at times in the Outlands, such as done by modern humanimals for The Kentucky Derby.  Here, the horses choose when they will allow anyone to saddle/ride them, and when training ends; when they wish to rest, no exceptions.

Qualities:

Few things can compare to the majesty and stress relief of riding your prized steed, galloping across the sands aside the surf, with the warm sea breeze in your billowing hair, and even a horseback archery range to your other side, should you wish to prove your accuracy and dexterity as the great and legendary cavalry bowmen of olde did.  The quality of both our horses and archery ranges/equipment here are second to none.  You will not find a finer steed, target, or bow.

Rarities:

While Clydesdales are, of course, always available, so are Friesians, Gypsy Horses, and even Pegasi (flying horses) and Unicorns.  Don’t worry about their prominent spike, though; in Inisfree, you can’t get hurt (and, of course, unicorn horns are not for impaling/defense, but magick; casting spells from living magick wands).  All the horses here are well-mannered and safe to ride, anyway.

Dimensions & Layout:

This is an area 528 feet wide and as long as the beach section is between the Atlantis hotel and the Bed & Breakfast Spire; about 2.5 miles.  That gives the Equestrian Escape an area of 6,969,600 square feet; 160 acres.  It has plenty of room for hundreds or even thousands of riders (and some classic beach horse-ride movie-scenes are even filmed by WMKM Studios workers here).

Culture:

All girls here ride nude, and can take a detour into the shoreline archery range to practice their marksmanship even while still mounted.  Only males wear clothes while riding (though females can wear basic panties or riding-pants and riding-boots if they want).  There are also times (at day and/or night) when the more-‘adventurous’ members of Inisfree come out here, such as Juli Mackey –and the women High Queen Ambrosia likes to further ‘train’/condition.

Approach:

This album gives you an idea of what you’ll see when traveling to this part of our realm.

Statue of the Best:

This is not far away, just around part of the base of our central mountain, and up the slope over there, as one of the biggest parts of Statue Park.

Archery:

There are multiple places in our realm where people learn, practice, and master this skill, but only here is it almost always done while riding a horse.

Progression:

  1. basics first; bow-wood types, string types, bow sizes, simple vs. compound bows, crossbows, arrow components (tip types; composition and ‘shapes’, rod/shaft types, tail/feather types)
  2. then distance; seeing how far each archer can reliably get arrows on target, standing still, with different wind-calls (breezes/directions, gusts, etc.)
–doubles as getting them 2nd-nature at recognizing when a target is in range of different bow types, and in range of different archers (based on their size, apparent skill-level, etc.), and whether it is a good time to lead a moving target which may likely come INTO range by the time an arrow fired from far off nears the end of its trajectory
  3. then precision; not just farther targets, but smaller and smaller ones, starting with a poster on a haybale, and working up to apples, soda cans, etc.
–and elves are exceptional at this, often able to Split already-fired arrows, even when in flight, or at least intercept/deflect them
  4. then moving targets; pop-ups which lean back when struck, and then side-to-side / traversing targets, and finally bouncing-balls
  5. then horseback, arguably the most challenging, since it involves the galloping motion, plus often turning to the side or even nearly backward while the lower body remains as-is / ‘fixed’ on the saddle
–and this eventually progresses into special techniques such as leaning down around/under the horse’s neck to fire an arrow out from underneath/back there

Riding:

Just picture the horses approaching who they choose to let ride them, the females all nude, and the riders only steering (i.e. not setting the pace or duration as much as their mounts do).

Daenerys:

Naturally, with her background/past, she enjoys coming here fairly often, though she seldom dabbles in archery.

Nude:

In our culture, it is weird/uncommon for females NOT to be naked, whether on horseback or anywhere else.  No one thinks anything OF it; it is just how things have always been here, and for many obvious good reasons.

Supermodel Riders & Miscellaneous:

This album is for everything not included in those above, such as good-looking females who are (in the Outlands) clothed; picture them (or, at least, their perfected counterparts/lookalikes) naked here.

2021 Update:  Falconry

This being Inisfree, these birds are able to communicate telepathically and in other ways with their human teammate/s, and many of them (bird and rider/human alike) can shapeshift.  Sometimes, you’ll even see the human-looking person dismount by shapeshifting into a bird, and then remount their horse-teammate by flying back down over its saddle and shapeshifting back into human form.

2023 Update:  2022 Scale-model in Minecraft

Obviously, not much detail can be made out from this ~1:46-scale model.  These screenshots were just included here to show you the major landforms/surroundings of this horses/horseback area; they are bordered by a tall cliff on one side, a rectangular lake on the other, and the beach equivalent of a greenbelt (thus better called a sand-belt or a tan-belt) on the remaining two sides.

2026 Summer:

I (Auz) remember telling a blonde Outlander girl in Montana, during late 2012 or early 2013, of this part of my planned/destined realm, and noticing or assuming the name had struck her as a bit too rhyming, I then adding, “Yes, I know; I’m still working on a better name.”
Well, “fast-forward” these last ~13 Earth-years, and I still haven’t thought of one!  LOL
I have looked up names of reputable horse-riding schools around the world, but they all have such expected names, almost always including “equestrian”, “horse”, and/or “riding” in their names, so that didn’t really inspire me.
Maybe this place doesn’t even Need a better name, then.
We’ll see if one occurs to me in the time ahead.

The horses here all know me and regard me highly, grateful to me for making sure to include them in my sacred and very private/exclusive realm, and because I made sure their area is a pristine, scenic, storybook-/fantasy-quality one, and of course because of how I default to being so polite to them and all the other beings, human or otherwise, who are likewise polite to Me.  You’ll see them noticing me, as so many other animals around the world have, then empathically and/or telepathically determining what I want, such as whether they should walk over and greet me in person.  They almost Always stop by to see if I want to climb/hop up and go for a trot along the beach for a few minutes, since that is “the thing we do”, part of the basis of our bond/friendship; normal, mutually-enjoyable, healthy, togetherness-based pastimes.

My dogs are the animals who get the most fired up when seeing me returning to hangout some more, they being dogs, and dogs being like that and all, but these majestic nonhuman beings here at The Equestrian Escape clearly also give off the vibe that they are excited to spend more time with me.

Being in Inisfree, they also have natural compersion, never getting moody at or too competitive with their fellow horses (whom we call horse-people, which, to us, does not mean “humans who like/have horses”, but refers to the horses themselves as conscious intelligent equals).

Even though my busy schedule results in me only stopping by for half an hour or so, once a season or so, the memories of everyone in my realm are endless and perfect; I am Always remembered well.  Besides, everyone here being so empathic and otherwise connected, the people here (humans, horses, and others) often can foresee when I will decide to stop by again, and Always sense when I am on my way, minutes before I come into view.  This is Inisfree.
