These are the apartment-like or trailer/RV-like boats that float or move slowly on the canals of our city.

Dimensions & Layout:

Houseboats range in size somewhat; smaller ones are like sailboats or tiny yachts, while larger ones are like barges with two or three floors and sometimes even hallways with suites of rooms.  They are always short enough to rotate in a circle in the middle of any spot in our canals.  They are also all shorter than the height of the underside of all the foot-traffic bridges we made over our canals.

Inside, each houseboat has a bridge/helm, a maintenance room, a breakfast/dining room, a lounge / living-room, at least one berthing/bedroom, at least one bathroom (which we call a toilet-room), and sometimes a separate kitchen, a library/study, and more.

Outside, our houseboats have a wrap-around porch-like walkway/deck, and sunning/tanning chairs either on the back or up top.

Numbers & Locations:

There are many miles of canals and other waterways in our city.  That makes/means room for thousands of this type of vessel.  In keeping with our anti-congestion / pro-dispersion laws, we have limited the total number of houseboats in our realm to just a couple hundred per Inisfree / Inisfree-like city.

You will be able to see a dozen or so of our city’s houseboats on any stretch/section of any of our canals, but only once you are off the slope of our central mountain; houseboats in Inisfree are always near ground-level, i.e. in the foothills/plains/meadows.

Movement from One Canal to the Others:

There are a few ways a canal-boat / houseboat can be transported/relocated from one isolated canal in our realm to another.

  1. A “Work-horse” municipal-service vehicle can use its crane to lift a houseboat up over the edge/side/bank of the canal it is in, set it on top of a heavy-duty trailer or cargo-truck bed (that doesn’t have a shipping-container or cargo-box already on it), and then follow that vehicle to the next canal/bank.
  2. An MPHA can hover over the houseboat, activate its tractor-beam/s or lower and attach cables/hooks, and fly/hover up like a “crane-helicopter” would.
  3. Inisfreean girls (ICVs) can use their strength and flying abilities (when in their S.T. suits) to pick it up off the canal water’s surface, then hover it over to where its user/renter wants it to be set down, much like how Superman or Supergirl can pick up and move/fly trucks or even airplanes around.

2023 November update:  They can turn around via built-in repulsine-like/-facilitated hover-rising.

Population Over Time:

Roughly 1 more person made these vessels his/her home (or at least their 2nd/vacation home) every ~2 years from 2013 to 23000 A.D..

  1. 2013:  the first guest or resident here
  2. 2022:  ~5 living in this neighborhood this year
  3. ~23000 A.D. and beyond:  ~10,000 at capacity (~10ppl per, x ~1,000 of these boats)

History:

Starting in 2022, High King Auz made it a tradition to take his boat-loving wives and fuckbuddies here to sex-christen them all.  It will take many years, perhaps decades or even centuries, but together they’ll Vril-reinforce every canal/house-boat in Inisfree by lovemaking in them –first once in each, then in each of their rooms.  Eventually, they’ll make love in the water right outside, holding onto the edge/side/railing for leverage and fun.
