Introduction:

On this square mile of gently rolling, small, grassy hills meeting the base of the slope of our central mountain… stand the 10 Flower Towers; the premier sports facilities of the Inisfreean empire where world-class athletes meet from the far corners of all the realms in the mega-verse.  This, along with the Valhalla Resort ski slopes, are where these fitness legends practice, play, and compete for years on end with the hopes of being selected for the Inisfreean Olympic Games.  The Flower Towers are Inisfree’s premier sporting arenas.

Distinct Function:

They aren’t just called Flower Towers because they are in the general shape of a Titan-sized flower on a stem; these buildings are designed such that when it comes time to practice or play a sports game on one of them, it looks like they bloom open like a flower, their stadiums each on one petal-like platform… tilting down from where they are kept upright and together over the central building/shop.  The whole process of ‘blooming’ takes a few minutes, each petal moving at a slow and stable speed.  Anytime even just one petal/stadium is needed/requested, all of them open, keeping the whole structure balanced.

Repulsines in those stadium-supporting ‘petals’ (5 repulsines per petal) allow them to cancel out their own weight, hinge up or down like a drawbridge, opening (‘blooming’) and closing with ease.

*This design was the precursor to the Awesome Blossom of downtown Inisfree; once we perfected the Flower Towers, we knew the prototype of the Awesome Blossom would work the same way.

(The precursor to the Flower Towers, by the way, was the Perimeter Wall‘s gate ramp-hatches; once we proved one of them could work, we knew the smaller Flower Towers’ ‘petals’ would.)

Dimensions:

  • Pedestal/Shaft: ~438′ (3-tall in the Minecraft model)
  • Supports for ‘Petals’: ~146′ (1-tall in the Minecraft model)
  • Base + Pedestal/Shaft + Petals Supports: ~730′ (5-tall in the Minecraft model) –*thus the waterfalls are 730′ tall
  • Stadiums: ~146′ (1-tall in the Minecraft model)
  • Shop + Top: ~292′ (2-tall in the Minecraft model)
  • Entire Structure: ~1,022 (7-tall in the Minecraft model); 102 stories

2024 February note:  The “Shop + Top” is a 29-story high-rise of a dome, with not just a sports-gear shop inside (at its lowest level),
but a restaurant (right above that shop-level),
kitchens (above the restaurant) to make whatever everyone in the stands of the petal-stadiums wants to eat and drink,
and “box” suites (above those kitchens), each with its own toilet-room.

Flower Towers Directory:

See what each of these flora-fashioned constructs looks like, which sport it is for, and which cheerleaders are for it:

  1. Baseball
  2. Basketball
  3. Football (Soccer)
  4. Hockey (Ice)
  5. Hockey (Street/Roller)
  6. Lacrosse
  7. Rugby
  8. Tennis
  9. Volleyball
  10. Wrestling

* The flower tower designed for roller-hockey also doubles as a skater park.

We have 17 cheerleaders per team, so the Flower Towers which have 8 playing fields will have 272 ICVs serving as cheerleaders atop them (17 cheerleaders x 8 fields x 2 teams) during events when all 8 of their fields are in use by those teams.  The Flower Tower which has 4 playing fields (the baseball one) will have 136 (17 x 4 x 2).

Sports Playable Across the Flower Towers Field:

  1. Baseball (distinct tower)
  2. Basketball (big tower 1)
  3. Field Hockey and Roller (Street) Hockey (medium tower 1)
  4. Football (American, lingerie) (big tower 2) –and, as of 2023 August, also Girl Catch on these fields/’petals’
  5. Ice Hockey (medium tower 2)

Capacity:

There are four sizes of Flower Towers here in Inisfree, and their corresponding spectator seating capacities are as follows:

  1. small:  ~50,000
(thus at least 500 regular toilets; not BTBs –and these are in the “neck”/”stem” of the building, always in our standard public-toilets room-layout of 15 toilet-stalls in a row on the back/outer-wall, thus 34 15-stall toilets-rooms, 1 such room at every cardinal-direction along the AIOW‘s outer curve, IOW:  4 toilets-rooms per complete-circle/level of the AIOW, thus 9 circles/levels/floors of them)
  2. medium:  ~150,000
    (thus at least 1,500 regular toilets; 100 15-stall toilets-rooms)
  3. medium-distinct (for baseball/softball):  ~100,000
    (thus at least 1,000 regular toilets; 67 15-stall toilets-rooms)
  4. large:  ~200,000
    (thus at least 2,000 regular toilets; 134 15-stall toilets-rooms)

Together, the 10 Flower Towers of Flower Towers Field have a seating capacity of 1,500,000.  A million and a half fans can attend our games here in person, all at the same time.  Imagine the sound of the cheering!

Capacity per Petal:

  • Sm (skate/BMX):  50k / 8 playing-fields = 6,250 spectators per stadium/petal
  • Med (hockey types, lacrosse, tennis, volleyball):  150k / 8 = 18,750 per
  • Med-distinct (baseball):  100k / 4 baseball-diamonds = 50k per (normal for the avg. Outlands baseball stadium)
  • Lg (basketball, football, soccer):  200k / 8 = 25,000 (above avg. for an Outlands hockey stadium)

The Real Deal:

No AstroTurf is used on the playing fields of these sporting arenas, nor fake plants of any kind anywhere else in Inisfree, either. It is important and therapeutic for all players to feel real, fresh, healthy grass under their feet while they are standing and running, and against the rest of their skin when they dive, tackle, fall, or otherwise lie down. We also never cut or otherwise groom our playing field grass, instead planting only the grasses which grow to a natural height suitable for our sports games.

Team Colors:

In Inisfree, nudity is the general law and status quo, so in sporting events there are no jerseys or other uniforms to distinguish the different teams. Because of the invincible Inisfreean anatomy, we don’t even need to wear sneakers or sports bras, so if you were impressed by the sexiness and revealing outfits of lingerie football in the Outlands, be prepared to watch entire games with your jaw dropping down to the floor in Inisfree. Instead of clothing-based uniforms, teams here are differentiated by which colors the Inisfreean girls set their hair and the irises of their eyes to be, and this can be any imaginable combination of colors, highlights, ribbons, and more. For visiting teams from the various Outland realms which are compatible with the Inisfreean Way, the players, always females, are allowed to distinguish their teams with colorful war paints, hair ribbons, fingerless gloves, armbands, garters, and/or sports bras. Cosmetics, such as makeup and hair dyes, are among the contraband banned from even being near the Perimeter Wall, much less inside our city, as are any concealing articles of clothing, for in Inisfree only the sexy are allowed (those who maintain high levels of fitness and the aesthetic), and only if they are nudists.

Referees are ICVs (often just called Inisfreeans or “Inisfreean girls”) wearing body-paint that looks like a skin-tight black-and-white stripes referee-uniform.  They set their hair to black, and their eyes to icy-/sky-blue.

No Pads:

And since Inisfreeans can’t get gashes, dislocations, torn tendons, concussions, or broken bones, they even play full-contact sports nude, tackling in football and rugby, bare-knuckle boxing, and sparring in Mixed Martial Arts without shin guards or any Other protective gear.

Non-invincible players and guests are, of course, welcome to pad-up, though.  (They may find they don’t much need those things after playing a while, as everyone who makes it into Inisfree becomes incredibly strong and tough, if not, at least conditionally, invincible themselves.)

Schedule:

Since we don’t have competitions/tournaments, teams meet to play on these blooming towers whenever two or more of them have an idea for a fun new way to work together to attempt a new feat (and that doesn’t always have to include setting/breaking a/any record).
Teams can play here any day of the week.
ICV teams play whichever sport is requested by a visitor/resident whenever that person / those people want/need it to be played.  (If, for example, someone comes to Inisfree and wants to see a nude game of baseball played on one of the Tuesdays they are here in town, that is when a couple teams of ICVs will get together to play it/that for them –and no practice is required, as all ICVs have all sports moves and tactics memorized for life.)

  • 5am-5pm is open for non-students; during morning commutes and most classes.
  • 5-6pm is ‘reset’; tidying up between basic/light uses, ensuring all fields and seats are ready for students wanting to use them.
  • 6-9pm is for students, as all LHS classes are done for the day by 6pm.
  • 9-11pm is their final ‘reset’ (and biggest cleaning/inspecting) of the day (since it is after the biggest games hosted here)
  • 11pm-5am is when all these towers are usually closed; not bloomed open.

They do not close (un-bloom) until at least a couple hours after big games; time enough to clean and inspect them (though it doesn’t take long for a huge team of ICVs and kajirae to get through that task).

Special Events:

Olympics and other very popular/global sports are often hosted/centered here.  “Sexual Fitness” sporting events are, as well (which are games that are far more sexually augmented/accented than our norm of skimpy/nude girls playing the given sport by its normal rules).  The rarest of these gatherings are post-game / post-Olympic mega-orgies where all the fans get to “meet” their favorite player/s –right out on the field, under the stadium lights, the/those player/s still in their sexy uniforms/body-paint.

* The first Inisfreean Olympic Games were hosted here in 2015, and the 125th by 2517; once every four years.

Cheerleaders:

With 10 Flower Towers, totaling 76 playing fields, thus up to 152 teams at the same time, and 17 cheerleaders per team, we may have as many as 2,584 ICVs working as cheerleaders up here.

Cheerleader-ICVs love showing off their mastery of the complex/advanced forms of cheerleading, such as making stacks of themselves.  The most common/popular stack of our cheerleaders is the triangular-pyramid formation.  It is 3 levels, with a triangle of 10 ICVs as the base, 6 ICVs held above them, and 1 ICV on top.

Being ICVs, all our cheerleaders are always ready and eager to hook up with any player/s and/or fan/s.  If they are asked/reserved before you can walk over to flirt with one, don’t worry; nearby ICVs will always sense what you were hoping for, and arrange for another ICV of the exact same face/body to hook up with you promptly.  You’ll soon see her smiling brightly as she walks straight your way to warmly discuss whatever you have in mind for her.

Novels Excerpt:

With full stomachs, and that light feeling one gets after a healthy meal made just for them, they went to see Inisfree’s main sporting area. It was called Flower Towers Field, and the name made sense once they arrived; every building there (and there were 10 of them) was in the shape of a giant flower; narrow base and neck, widening toward the top, crowned with petal-like platforms that extended out from the top, radially, each one supporting a playing field, rink, or other arena. There was even a shop atop each ‘flower tower’ roofed by a dome, made to look like the center of most flowers where the pollinators, such as bees or butterflies, might hang out.

Each of the ten towers of this field was made for one sport; there was one for baseball, for example, and a separate one for hockey. Since most residents and guests were female, so were most teams, though some had both men and women. The goal was always to find creative ways of teaming up; teams did not compete to see who would win and who would lose. Sports in Inisfree were a celebration of togetherness, not a fight to the finish. Players also played for free; for the love of the game.

Inisfree also had its own Olympics, and athletes from all the non-human realms came from far and wide to practice and play together atop the Flower Towers and in other parts of the storied city. Though Inisfree maintained a pleasant climate year-round, there was also an area for Winter sports; a well-groomed ski slope on the other side of their central mountain. They’d be going to check that out in the days ahead.
