When you add the passage of the Sun, Moon, and stars to the skies of any game, and create realistic sunsets and sunrises, so much more becomes enchanting and worth playing a little longer.  It is almost a therapeutic or lullaby effect.  I still remember those in World of Warcraft and other classic games.

 

CYCLES

There are numerous overlapping cycles in this MMORPG:

  1. day-night of the OUTside AND simulated by the Sky-dome‘s smart-polarization
  2. moon-phases of the real-moon AND fake-moon
    *2024 June 18 Tuesday 9:20 PM, PST:  The underside of Cloud City II matches the Moon’s appearance; day by day, it changes phases from Full, to waning, to New, to waxing, and back to Full, at the same rate the Moon does (so IRL matches in-game).
  3. waves of the lake/s
  4. ‘rush hour’ along the GAH (though it is often negligible due to the dispersion algorithms and offset shift hours)
  5. seasons (regulated by the temperature-control silos and HAARP); leaves colors (though King’s Drive is constant), the xmas-light building-buds and tree-buds (see #7 below), etc.
  6. weather patterns (regulated by HAARP, though kept as random as possible); sunny, misty, cloudy, rainy, stormy, breezy, etc.
  7. the omni-calendar; you will always see the remote-triggered light-bulbs appearing on trees and home edges during the holidays (such as red-green-white for xmas-time, purple-orange-yellow for Halloween-time, red-white-blue for Inisfree Independence Day week, etc.), the hour-long Cloud City 2‘s flight out over Devils Tower 2 once each year, and the WGI HQ Tower hover blossom feature of Sotu during the one day of the year it does that, etc.
  8. CP LZ training; flights to/from the CP Hatches, and then DS flying down out of, then up into, the CPs out over the MIL section of the beach around the main lake
  9. ODST training; drops of pods down to the 3 ODST ranges
  10. NPCs training at the small-arms ranges
  11. business-hour rotations of students (mostly ICVs) through the classrooms and stories of LHS, TNA, etc. (and the luxury school-buses (motor-coaches) dropping them off and picking them up, etc.; you will see one of those vehicles at Inisfree’s ‘bus stop’ equivalents in each neighborhood at TWO times during EACH school-day, and NPC-ed ICVs leaving their homes to walk out nude TO those buses, etc.)
  12. Batchlings group-flash-cloned into existence atop the pedestals of the Cloning Facs
  13. kajirae being kenneled and disciplined in the Subt’ Prison
  14. kajirae candidate groups being rotated through the Quarantine Facility (incoming from the silo tunnels from the Uber Hangars, then outgoing into the Subt’ Prison for final conditioning/lessons prior to going topside, etc.)
  15. cars/clothes being 3D-printed in the autos-facs (they are shipped/packaged/driven/flown out of sight when they leave the edge of this map/region, so we don’t have to maintain them along the whole GAH; this is just a cycled animation like a 3D GIF file to entertain players with more realism/immersive events, etc.)
