These look like tall snowy hills outside the wall around our city.

Introduction:

Not to be confused with the far smaller Guard Turrets all located within the city, Sentry Towers are often stationary, posted Dropships serving as a larger, more modern version of Park Ranger lookout towers, and are all outside the city’s Perimeter Wall, just outside its concentric defensive rings, yet all still inside the region dubbed the Perimeter Orb.

VTOL; Vertical Take-Off and Landing:

Being part of the Inisfreean realm (its own private, man-made dimension), these observation ‘nodes’ fanning out radially at even intervals from Inisfree’s center point remain in their exact formation even when the entire city takes off for flight above and beyond the surface of the Earth. The ethereal buffer zone (the outermost sphere around Inisfree) goes with them, keeping the city and many miles of its surrounding space blurred, hazy, and hidden from view, while all the snow, ice, and other ground (that these Sentry Towers once seemed anchored by their foundations into) simply drops down away from them; rather, it is more accurate to say, they silently take off by hovering with the city up away from it all.

Upon (re)landing, these stationary Inisfreean Dropships continue to remain in their exact dispersion and orientation relative one another and the city, moving only slightly vertically in order to each have the exact same distance of their access hatch-ramps above whatever terrain the city makes landfall upon.  For example, if the terrain is flat, all of these Inisfreean Dropships stand with their caps at the exact same height, but if the terrain is varied with hills or other rugged features, some of their caps will be higher than others.

Access:

Like all Inisfreean military constructs, vessels, and training environments, these Sentry Towers are strictly forbidden to any and all Outlanders, and even to any and all Inisfreeans not assigned to man them; only the Inisfreeans who have graduated from the 19th grade in the Inisfreean educational system and are fit for duty and deployments get stationed and rotated out to staff these Sentry Towers as their living sentries.  With how well trained the Inisfreeans are, not to mention how their physical and mental abilities far exceed that of even the Kryptonians, any one of these Inisfreean Dropships could defend the whole of Inisfree’s outermost sphere (the ethereal buffer that hides the whole city’s presence from view), and Inisfree is surrounded by multiple rings of many dozens of them.  Pass by and between them at your own risk.  ‘Countless’ Inisfreeans will be watching, the sights of their ‘rainbow cannons’ aimed.

Additional Notes:

The term ‘tower’ is chosen because these are the tallest of the formal guard posts across Inisfree’s territory.  Their smaller ‘cousins’, the Guard Turrets inside the Perimeter Wall, instead use the term ‘turrets’ because that literally means ‘smaller tower’, which they certainly are.

Once our Jobs Rotation was drafted and in effect, ~half or more of the 100M ICVs stationed in Inisfree are evenly assigned to these 96 lookout posts; that would mean ~520,833 ICVs per Sentry Tower.
To make for easy math and complete military units, we’ll say each of these mobile towers has at least 1 of our military Divisions in it; 390,625 ICVs.
390,625 x 96 = 37,500,000.
50M – 37,500,000 = 12,500,000 ICVs for flying the aircraft and driving the vehicles stored in these towers.

1 of our armies = 1,953,125 ICVs
37,500,000 / 1,953,125 = 19.2 of our armies
50M / 1,953,125 = 25.6 of our armies
Also for easier math, we’ll say there are 25 of our armies out here; 48,828,125 ICVs.

The Perimeter Orb is what is left of a 12.5-mile radius circle (490.87 miles^2) after subtracting Inisfree-within-the-wall (11.5-mile sided square; 132.25 miles&2); the orb includes 358.62 square miles.
1 mile^2 = 27,878,400 ft^2
~27.9M < 37.5M; there are more than enough ICVs stationed out here to have them spread out from these towers to occupy every square foot of this terrain.

Locations:

This shows the 96 Sentry Towers’ general locations; they are in a formation of 2 concentric rings, offset.  (96 DSs fill up the DS-hangars of 24 CPs, the exact number we have docking spaces/room for in the Main Hangar.)

Overall Form:  DropShips

These are our egg-shaped dropships, just with lots of ice and snow buildup on their exteriors, helping disguise them.  That might seem pointless, given their towering height and considerable span, but remember that Antarctica is known for standalone steep mountains and hills not unlike how these appear.  Thus it is their uniform spacing that “gives them away”, not their prominence.

2022 Update:  Scale-models in Minecraft

They are easy to see from Inisfree (within the perimeter wall), but often well-masked by the “whiteout” (blizzard-illusion) effect out in the perimeter orb.

2024/+:

Once humans are nearly wiped off the Earth (again; in 2313 A.D.), and when Inisfree relocates to allied realms, there won’t be much need for ICVs to be on duty in these structures, so more and more of them will be rotated into jobs on the other side of the square wall, likely keeping pace with our guest population as it approaches its foreseen maximum in the 24th millennium A.D..
At that time, these towers will only request ICVs if there is an expected/detected approaching hostile force that would be more-quickly neutralized if more ICVs joined forces out here.  Also by that time, nearly everything in all universes (i.e. the whole mega/omniverse; all of Creation) will have been neutralized / aligned to us, thus incapable of even considering doing anything intrusive or threatening to our realm.
