Every good game has cut-scenes that play like advertisement-long episode clips bringing in-game milestones to life.  Cinematics are often CGI helping to re-immerse the player into the life-like aspects of the game.  I still remember the first ones I ever saw; they came from the original Warcraft –not World of Warcraft– as I made my way through each race’s set of campaign maps and missions.  Then the cinematics of StarCraft blew me away even more.  They really made me fall in love with those lengthy games, giving me the pauses, sighs, and ‘breaths of fresh air’ I needed to continue playing very happily.

CINEMATICS

There are ~100 cinematics in all of WoW, most of them lasting only 1 minute, with the life-like longer ones usually being reserved for expansion debuts.  Here are the classes/types of cinematics you will find in the Inisfree MMORPG:

  1. the cinematics (at level 0; pre-game) for the different character classes, playing AFTER character creation and the first load-screen but BEFORE you are able to move around and toggle between third- and first-person vantages; the cinematic of an ICV being born atop one of the pedestals, the cinematic of a free-person on an MPHA flight over the ocean and Antarctic terrain toward the mists hiding Inisfree, and the cinematic of a captured Outlander preteen girl in a stasis tube with no view of the fact that she is in a 2-miles-long IC-WS silently hovering underwater and then through a sub-glacial river-way toward one of the Uber Gates of the lower hemisphere of Inisfree
  2. various training cinematics (levels 1-9) for whichever NPCs and instructors/coaches/teachers you speak with first, and for their demos of how to try and practice the skills/whatever they are teaching you about
  3. cinematics for graduating from grade-levels in LHS and TNA, and for graduating from the Kajirae Program by being branded and given a generic collar (during capture in the Outlands, girls are just stripped and put in stasis tubes, NOT yet branded OR collared; those things must be earned, and some girls are still at risk of being jettisoned or de-atomized from those tubes, based on their behavior)
  4. various cinematics for the first time you enter a new area/region of this game; for each major section and building-type or neighborhood of Inisfree, and for the different raid biomes (one cinematic for approaching a jungle, versus a different one for approaching a desert, one for a city-like town, one for a farm/rural area, etc.), as well as one cinematic for each of the 51 nightclubs
  5. various lore cinematics, showing the actual history as a video, based on what you are reading on each plaque you hit the action-button/icon for
  6. various sports cinematics for watching, training for, then/and/or playing the games of Inisfree (carrier racetrack, street races, PBPK, etc.)
  7. various cinematics for victories over bosses –or defeats
  8. (30s) nightclub VIP areas
  9. (40s) MF school (grade 20)
  10. (50s) ICVs on deployment (non-raids; Inisfree’s Star Fleet operations across the Multiverse, such as to show the mapping technique of dividing worlds into hexagon-grids; honeycombs to avoid map-projection distortion when converting/representing spherical surfaces (of outer and inner surfaces; Aghartas (hollow planet-cores), etc.) as 2D/flat for human screens, etc.)
  11. a couple cinematics for each spaceport; seeing and entering it for the first time, learning how to fly some of its air/spacecraft for the first time, etc.
  12. a cinematic for each major holiday of Inisfree’s much more holiday-rich omni-calendar (these cinematics happen only on those applicable days, and only when you enter one of the areas of Inisfree actively publicly celebrating that particular holiday at that time)
  13. (60s-100s) a cinematic for King’s Drive (59-60), then entering the foyer for the first time (61), then for each room of the ICGM the first time you enter it (incl. the rooms of the Batcave II basement (70s), etc.)
  14. the cinematic (at level 84) when you witness Divinity Gottschalk of the Council of Elders escorted back into the dimension she was surprise-booted from back in 2012; when the King of Inisfree shows her the secret portal allowing her access to the throne-room of her maker (described in more detail above)
  15. entering the Memorabilia Room for the first time (level 101); this cinematic first shows the room, then a montage of the events of novel 1&2 (what made the King the way he is today)
  16. entering the Master Bed-and-bathroom for the first time (level 108)
  17. (110) the cinematic for going into the Archives and then waking up from them to venture out onto Ideal World as the CPs are starting to make landfall on the horizon, deploying their DSs on the way down; to open their ramps to start their radial formations while the CPs they have landed in ring formations around start to sink into the harmonics-softened earth of the LZs so their biomec’-tentacles can start to Grid (evenly terraform) the world as needed, etc.

*and show cinematics about the rough pasts/lives of these main characters in the game; tear-jerker stuff, and when and how they heard of Inisfree, and how it lit up their eyes and hearts again, etc.

“Facts tell, stories sell.”; tell their stories, not just facts about who/what they are, or their jobs, toDAY.
